I interviewed a lad for a job the other week. He had all A*s on the pieces of paper that he proudly showed me.

I've learned that you can't take these things at face value so throw the odd test in as part of the interview process. I asked him what 25% of 50 was & he couldn't work it out without a calculator. I then asked him to punctuate a sentence, 7 mistakes!

It doesn't matter what the position was (Accounts Payable Assistant). I employed a 30 year old who could do mental arithmetic & write a proper sentence.

Seen this lad a few times. Looks the business to me. Likes to drive forward and for a tall lad he keeps good control of the ball when he does.
