Give Woy credit. He's pretty good at getting results with teams that have limited talent. That was the 1st England team I've seen that looked organized. Boring yes, but also organized.

Stats

France 60% possession England 40%
France 18 shots England 3
France 12 on target England 1
Im not impressed with that.

To be fair the stats mean feck all. They just reflect the different styles. France play possession football and England play... Well England were there anyway. At the end of the day, it's how many times you get it in the onion bag. And to be honest England missed the games best chance.

The French were great at picking the ball from clumsy English players who dont have good close control. All the bellyaching about fouls not given is unreal. The ref did very well overall.

I thought England were just holding out for a draw from the moment they scored the opener. Apart from Wellbeck they were poor as an attacking force (and in fact Wellbeck dd his best work getting behind the ball). Typical Hodgson team: set up to concede as little space as possible. Very workmanlike and uninspiring. I was impressed by France, they knocked it about nicely without creating lots of chances and I thought they were unfortunate not to get the winner.

Hart was quite awful today, yet France never really threatened England and at least to me never looked like they were going to get the go ahead goal. Pretty even match despite the stats.

altho carra is sh1te at least he says a few interesting things, southgate is like a limp, dirty 'orrible dreary old dishcloth

It was mate, it really was. There was a clear difference in class in terms of attacking play.

they should have done more with their possesion tho, if i was a france fan i'd be disapointed..they have far better players than us

Could've been worse.

That France look beatable.

If we'd had:
Lineker
Robson
Gascoigne
Shearer
Geoff Thomas
Bobby Moore
John Salako
Stiles
Giggs
And '98 Owen.

We'd have won that!

Totally deluded.

Good banter lad, almost fell for that then.

No banter, just facts. They look like a team working for each other rather than it being disjointed and players shoehorned in, like it has been for 10 years +. I can guess that every player in that squad will do the job told to do to the letter, no passengers.

Good building blocks, foundations to a good team. Add some creativity and players maturing in a few years like Wilshire, walker, Rodwell, struridge etc who will get better and come in to offer options not there now but the foundations are there.
