Match day experience

They could also provide buses from certain areas around the city at say 1pm for a 3pm game then make the food and drinks affordable, and it would be rammed 1 half hours before the game, i guess it would build the atmosphere also benefits the fans players and the whole experience.

They would actually make more money if it was cheaper, more fans would go earlier.

Joking aren't you!

Im in club view and on one of the night games i remember queueing up for a pint at 7pm (kick off was 7:30pm) i had 8 people in front of me. At 7:25 i had 3 people in front of me.

Trust me the staff couldnt handle anymore customers there 😂

I wanted to take my dad for the first time and his answer was the same, too much hassle for him.

I wonder if the club are aware or even arsed about the general matchday issues/concerns?
The experience should be amazing but im not so sure it was what everyone was expecting.
It not just about sitting in a seat without an obstructed view.
I emailed the disability supporters about a family member for advice and they didn’t get back to me

My older brother went to the FA Cup game - In his opinion ground fantastic great DM & his team rubbish - as he was going in with his son & nephew who was there Andy Burnham & his daughter - many fans said hello to Andy - & all complained about the source of Transport to the HD ?BMD - He smiled & stated its the mayor of Liverpool to sort that out -

When Starmer was having a meeting with all the mayors in the UK - Andy walking talking to the Liverpool Mayor -

Osborne cancelled the set up for trams in the City -

I bet you if the other lot had been there - the help they would have received for transport would have been put in place more quickly as Anfield never suffers with their ground improvements etc etc roads closed etc -

Its politics if the -Liverpool Mayor was a blue it would have been so different & advantageous for that ground - look at the difference ......below

Substantial investments are flowing into the Anfield area in 2026, primarily through a £4 million highway and high street regeneration scheme outside the Kop and an estimated £110m–£114m recently spent on the new Anfield Road Stand. Future redevelopment will continue to focus on commercial growth and local community infrastructure. [1, 2, 3]

Anfield has been there forever, there has never been trams funded nor planned, nor even a train station at Cherry Lane on an existing line etc, all options mentioned in the club's transport studies, when seeking planning permission for recent redevelopment. The roadworks have no real beneficial effects on Liverpool's stadium project and were scheduled anyway. If anything it may even restrict future expansion of the Kop.

The fact is, few clubs ever receive local government funding for stadium transport infrastructure. They are only normally allocated any funding based on normal cost-benefit analysis..... and if the application doesn't satisfy the analysis requirements, then the responsibility for funding usually falls on planning applicants, ie the clubs. That is often the case for any 20+times a year venue. Arsenal, Spurs and various other clubs have had to fund their own infrastructure changes. The Ten Streets, Liverpool-waters and other surrounding developments may well attract that funding in the near future for a station at Vauxhall, or a dedicated people-mover for the whole waterfront. In the meantime, there may even be scope for some additional funding for new infrastructure for hosting the Euros...... of course when the project was first being planned it was with a view to hosting the Commonwealth games, and there was going to be massive funding available (£750m+). As soon as that collapsed, the talk of vauxhall station and 60k capacity ended.

Urm in the Hicks & Gillette era permission to build a stadium the size of an airport on Stanley Park which was a grade 2 listed Victorian park - the council back them full of Reds - thank God it all fell through ...

Cities ground for nothing - W Ham - ground for nothing plus being relegated is going to cost the London tax payer 2 million every year they are out of the premiership ......

If a blue was the mayor of Liverpool I feel things may have been done for the blue fans advantage transport wise IMO ..... not double yellow lines put everywhere on matchday ....

BK in his last chairmanship days his involvement with our club was left in charge of BMD - Remember the Kirkby debacle too - no actual cost of that waste of effort...

I've enjoyed the handful of Saturday games I've been to, getting the train from Moorfields to Sandhills half an hour or so before kick-off and then walking back.

Not sure I'd ever bother if I wasn't looking to be out for a drink in town before / after, though.

Personally I've not found things too bad, Saturday games (what are they?!) I can get the train to Edge Hill, jump on a 27 and meet my mates for a pre match beer in the Crown Vaults which is at the top of Boundary Street and it's under 20 mins to walk down to the stadium (or if the weather is decent, sit outside the Phoenix Hotel which is a slightly longer walk). My train for whatever reason doesn't stop at Edge Hill on a Sunday though so I have to go via town for those games and a bus from there instead. Post match, the only place I've liked near the stadium is the Coast Bar, not too keen on any of the others that are closest to the ground and that's where I definitely miss Goodison. Farther away from the stadium the golf bar (Fliers) and the WAV bar weren't too bad, the Castle was decent too (haven't tried any others yet) though generally though we will head into town. Go by car for midweek games, I'm fortunate that I can use a friends visitors permit, it's around 25 mins or so walk away, but once back at the car I can usually get away fairly handy.

Warren Bradley was head of the council when they received outline planning permission. He was/is a season ticket holding blue, as were several others in the Planning Dept at that time. The end of the park where they got permission had none of the key listed features and had a sports centre, car park and several football pitches on it, with the existing ground pledged to be converted to an extension to the park or other community facility in exchange for the new site.

West Ham and City got stadiums built initially for the Olympics/CWGs.... as we would've done if Durban hadn't pulled out of hosting the 2022 CW games and Brum hadn't won the subsequently rearranged event at short notice, because their preparations were more advanced.... That whole bid was facilitated by LCC and Joe Anderson. Then LCC also offered planning permission for BMD on a World Heritage site, knowing that it probably would've resulted in losing that status. That's without considering Walton Hall Park and offers for other potential sites. So all in all, I don't think we've been treated any less favourably tbh.

The stadium itself from the pitch to the seats is brilliant, I love being in that part. Amazing views everywhere. Maybe just paint the concrete walls blue and it would look a bit better.

I think the concourse needs work, there are so many empty areas with nothing, the club could definitely put in more stuff, even painting more of it and putting up murals would improve it. There are rumours of improvements to the toilets this summer, I think that is needed, even trying to direct people to toilets that are not as busy would be good.

The bit between the dock wall and the stadium is good but it is hard to move around it at busy times and getting out after a game is a joke. There have been games where we just stood still queuing to get onto the dock road. If they could let people out through the entrance and exits of Nelson Dock it would really improve the experience.

Fortunately not had to have a number 2 (not a RB) at the stadium, anyone itk what type of paper is being supplied (if at all)?

Concern yourself not!
I broke my duck on the last home game of the season.... it's not andrex, but it's certainly not the grease-proof school bog rolls of yesteryear. Happy future wiping.
