We had played City better than any other team for a while at the Etihad until Wigan came along. The tactics Wigan used were sound and the players were taken off guard as they were probably looking ahead to the C-league and the fact that they whipped Wigan in the Moo Cup.
Rosler deserves much credit for somehow flummoxing Toure though. I've never seen him so inept and befuddled in a match.

We did well at City, should have had a pen at 1-1, then the ref gave them one for nothing, it was hardly a terrible game from our point of view.

Wigan beat City because they played two up and went at City. They therefore scored goals and, for once, City were unable to score more than one at home.
Against Arsenal, we dallied around with the ball and tried to play a possessional game, but without a real threat around their box we were just not going to achieve anything. Our only real goal threat is Lukaku and he was all too often out wide rather than being in the centre where he might get a sniff of goal.
Possession is all well and good if you can retain the ball, build slowly and create a chance for a striker at the opponent's end. Possession in your own half and in the middle of the pitch without anything in the final third is meaningless and only allows us to say "well we lost 1-0 but had 70% of the possession".
