Obviously want Roberto to stay but he must work out a plan B for when his pass pass pass game is not working, which unfortunately has been most of this season (apart from Europe )

Stay. Get him some classy wingers in the next windows and we'll be sorted.
Is right.

He deserves more time but every bit of criticism he is getting right now, he deserves.
Is also right.

If you want Martinez gone you're a bad idiot.

He got us our best points total ever last season and we've pissed the toughest Europa League group there is. Of course we've not been brilliant in the league but there are how many games gone?

A grip. Get one.
Is right.

I can't see Martinez being able to fully assemble the squad he wants in less than three seasons. Therefore unless he gets us relegated, I would not even consider sacking him at any point in those first three seasons.

People seem to be forgetting that PART of the reason we finished so high last year was that Utd and a couple other teams had very bad seasons... it's not a normal year when the RS enter the final month of the season in pole position to win the title, is it!

A top eight finish and a EL final would be progress for us, with a squad in transition, especially with a fraction of the funds available to most of the rest of the prem.

Geesh I was staggered by the negativity of the toffeeweb live forum last night. OK the game was disappointing, and we're not going through a great patch, but then neither are most of the other teams at the mo. It's frustrating we don't seem to be able to capitalise on that, but look at the huge injuries we have.

Martinez clearly aspires to play beautiful football, and is establishing the philosophy from top to bottom of the club. This kind of development takes time. He is also rebuilding and redesigning the team and getting them to play the everton way - with honesty too.

Moyse's second season wasn't that great. Alex Ferguson struggled in the first few years at Man U. Only time will tell how good Martinez is for us, but in the meantime, let's accept the fact that unless you can buy a band of mercenaries every few years, no team won't be as perfect as we would like.

I hope next year he can prepare the team better in pre-season. I hope he can explore different strategies and train them into a plan B. I hope he can spend some time working on set pieces. I hope he can get in a top defensive coach. I hope he stays to do these things.

Despite my constant moaning of late on his tactics n substitution failings, he has to stay

I honestly think he is the reason we have Eto'o, Rom n Besic. Hopefully he can smooth talk some new talent come January

Yup we have Samuel Eto'o

I was shocked to see this poll was necessary.

Then I was happy to see only 9% of votes were for sack.

We aren't pretty in the league right now and we were downright frustrating last night but I'm still a lot happier this season because of our European adventure than most seasons under Moyes.

only 9% ??

I think thats quite a worry and shocking of our fanbase. Yes i think the majority of those votes are for a laugh and reaction purposes but still.

Martinez teams are easy on the eye but let's not forget he relegated Wigan. It depends where you see yourself going as a club, as a fanbase, as a team.

He makes the perfect 'Yes Man' for your chairman. But will he bring silverware, will be bring Champions League football? The jury is out.

I say stick with him - who are the better options? Managers like Klopp won't go to Everton, they'll be looking at jobs with Man City or Arsenal if they want to come to the Prem League.

I like Roberto Martinez, a good manager, nice guy. But his teams are TOO nice - Everton have no grit, no nasty streak - which is vital, especially in the English top flight.

He also couldn't build a good defence if his life depended on it. If you get in a defensive coach then I'd predict only good things for Everton because at the other end of the pitch, Roberto's teams look decent. However, if you keep on shipping goals like you are, you'll be lucky to get 6th this season. And I mean that in the nicest way, I like Everton and wish you well.

I just typed all of that without any pants on btw.

Apparently he's concentrating on Europa?
We drew with Krasnodar, Lille and we're lucky to beat Wolfsburg. Yes we've smashed the group but c'mon do people really think we'd come anywhere close to beating Man City, Basel/Liverpool, Napoli etc. it takes one bad night to go out of that competition.

Is right.

Disagree. We finished 5th last season because we got a really high points tally. It would have got top 4 in 8 of the 10 last seasons. Man Utd had a bad season but Spurs got the same amount of points they did when they finished 4th and the 4 teams above us were unusually all in title contention at points in the season and ending with high amount of points
