So negative. It might happen. May as well pull out of it otherwise.

Negative or realistic?

I've not said I don't want us to win it.

More the teams left in it will I dare say want to draw us if/when we go through. I would if I was them.

History suggests we've actually been quite good in the Europa/UEFA cup groups and then the 32 game. Then we get some boss Portuguese side and get wammed all over the place.

Hope I'm wrong this time of course.

I would.

Providing we didn't finish 17th the next season.

That's not the question - it's saying we're 17th and in danger of relegation with four games to go. Anyone taking that gamble... wow.

If you could guarantee 17th, then yeah, OK, I can see the logic in that, but to run the risk of 18th??? Have people forgotten Wimbledon and Coventry?

That's not the question - 17th and in danger of relegation with four games to go, possibly meaning the destruction of our club, but it's all OK because we won a tin pot once.

Never used this word before, but that's amazeballs. Yeah that's how flabbergasted I am that literally anyone would take that deal.

I would take winning the Europa league this season over finishing in the top half of the league any day of the week.

I didn't say I'd take the trophy and relegation.

I said I'd take the trophy and 17th. I really think relegation talk is a bit premature anyway. Our form is dire, but there is a lot of absolute gash in the league this year.

Yeah that's fine - not the question though.

Would you take being 17th and in danger of relegation with four games to go, if it meant winning the Europa League? I wouldn't even run that risk - talking of risk to reward... I think people really underestimate what relegation would mean for Everton.

Risk and reward.

5 games to go, win 2 or 3 of them and we're in the Cl next season, having won our first pot in 2 decades and lose all of them we're in the championship. That's high risk, high reward.

You'd rather have 4 games to go, where win or lose we're bottom half, trophyless out of europe and a boring bottom table side.

But this is hypothetical, I think we'll almost certainly be in the latter and not the former.

Sorry I misunderstood. Yes I would like to win the Europa League.

I worry if people are pinning hopes on a Europa League win.

You actually think the risk vs. reward is even remotely even in that scenario? As in, you think Champions League qualification is equal reward to the risk of relegation to the Championship?

I mean, alright, if you do, you do, but... erm... wow.

History suggested this once or twice. It also suggested we won the Cup Winners Cup too.

Be positive, we haven't played a bad game in Europe yet, we look a different side, I'm very excited about our chances.

To say "we're not going to win it" is a staggering statement from a "supporter".

Oh yeah, I mean garauntee too. I'd take that. But of course there's a lot of risk involved.
