good lord - people who are worried about their club now being likened to Isis !! Seems to be going a bit far in my book.

Thats something I have been thinking. If it didn't get any better next season, I would hope the board wouldn't think the need to go the opposite way and appoint a Pulis.

I really don't want us to be just another middling Premier league club swapping managers every couple of seasons. Like Villa appointing managers that you already know wont be there inside two seasons...

Make our choice. Have patience even in bad times. Then be very very sure about sacking, and in who we get next.

This. Get safe and whatever happens (knocked out of Europa; terrible bottom half league position), I think Martinez gets a decent shake of next season to sort our his squad and his tactics on the pitch. The balance will be giving him enough time after a transfer window to demonstrate his team is working and giving the club enough time to find a new manager and bed him in before the business end of the season.
