Makes very little difference really if he's a gash 26 year old or a gash 27 year old, bottom line is he's gash.

All depends how this lad is signed imo. If he's brought in to be a important first 11 player I'd be somewhat worried. If he's brought in as a decent player to be part of the squad to replace aging players in the future, then on a free don't think its too bad tbh.

I would strongly suggest that those who are unhappy with Bobby steer away from the latest newsnow story running on another web forum

Martinez "We are ready to explode into Success"

I just take no notice of what he says now. The guys a clown and deluded. Let him have his moment. It won't last long now.

You're right lads.....sod Cleverley let's sign Bale, Ronaldo and Iniesta.

If you think Tom Cleverly - a flop at both Man Utd AND Aston Villa - should be the sum of our ambitions as a free transfer signing, then the damage has already been done by Martinez in lowering your expectations.

Filling the squad with mediocre players (Cleverly, joining Lennon, McGeady, Alcaraz) just makes us, well, a mediocre mid-table, not qualifying-through-Europe-again-via-the-league team.

We basically become a Stoke. Provided we actually stay up, of course. Stoke are 14 points ahead of us, so maybe that's what we should aspire to be at this point.

The past? We are talking months.

...we're not though are we, we're talking since he went on a Summer World Cup TV holiday, lump that in with an appallingly poor pre-season, add the season that NEVER truly got going (it's MARCH) and here we are, judging him in the present, a crucial 'moment' in which he says, by and large, that he's not going to change anything, which in turn gives concern for the future, yes?

Of course if we were to judge him in the past then we'd be looking at the SWANSEA/WIGAN records and be filled with absolute confidence eh...

But I get it, he's not the finished article, we got 'potential'...
