Looked awfully silly when we won.

Haha

What I meant was, Bill likes to be loved. In the grand scheme of things, the banners won't have made much, if any difference, but a little push doesn't do any harm now and then.

Banners at Wembley would be daft, but if Blues feel strongly enough to roll banners out pre-Wembley, then good for them, I'd rather see passionate Blues than apathetic Blues.

Fair do's

Genuine question.....what 11 would you play in the semi? Given the line of opinion that you wouldn't give him the semi "he's been that bad in the league" we'd only have two or three players that didn't meet the same criteria. There'd be Barry, Funes Mori and possibly Lukaku who warrant a place.

As far as players who 'deserve' a place there's very few; Jagielka, Barry, Lennon, Barkley and Lukaku have all contributed (when allowed to) this year. Would probably pad it out with Stones, Baines, Coleman, Besic, Deulofeu and Robles.

Make no mistake the players have been underperforming this year and deserve some of the blame, but a lot of that is down to the manager too, and he's been shocking this year, absolutely shocking.

Depends on how you think it'll effect things though.
Will it inspire the manager and players to move up a gear up to and including the semi-final, or will it make the atmosphere at the club worse ?

Got to be honest, I can't call it one way or the other. One thing I am 98% sure of though, banners or no banners, Martinez will be in charge for the semi.
Why not 99% ?

21 years mate, beggars can't be choosers.
A cup win might buy him more time. If it does, and he starts to turn it round in the league, then happy days.

If he doesn't turn it round, then he'll be gone within 12 months. God knows, it's been desolate for two decades, so I can put up with 12 months possible pain if there's a trophy in the cabinet.

As far as the league and keeping players here goes, this season's a write-off, cup win or no cup win.

I can't agree that a cup win is worth 12 more months of this utter tedium Woolly, I just can't. I understand I'll probably be in the minority, but I'm as apathetic about Everton as I've ever been, and I can't deal with a third straight season of abysmal league form.

You'd rather finish 7th than win something?

You could always hibernate ?

This post has infuriated me and shows that some fans need to decide what they want and not want him out and then sing bobbys army a week later!
It's cos the semi is such a big game as a club we need to be united. For many players it'll be their biggest club game of their careers. We already know there's a problem between players and fans (home record), and a few banners will not make the club fire Martinez before April 23rd.
So I just believe it's best for the club and us all not to widen cracks that are already there.
I can't see us winning the semi tbh, but who knows. A good win at Wembley and they may get the team confidence/chemistry/balls to play like professionals again.
Also, who's the alternative at this very moment? Dunc and Phil Nev? Royle? All short term and we'd need to try sort another change in the summer.
For me that's too chaotic.
