What happens if we lose in the semi-final?
Totally depends. If I see a team on the pitch desperate to win and competing in every way with one of two very good teams we're likely to play, then I'll be gutted but it'll indicate little other than the ups and downs of cup football. I'll probably see two semi finals as a better outcome to a season than going out tamely early on and if they've looked as good as West Ham or Man u but lose I'll see that as an improvement on Moyes.
What do you define as a poor season?
One where the standard of football is bad, the games we win are more about attrition than quality, I see little quality there to develop and I see little fight or belief
What would it take for you to agree Martinez should be sacked?
A clear consistent argument that he's causing more harm than good. He inherited an aging squad that lacked in depth quality and wasn't comfortable in possession. I'd want to know we had guaranteed the arrival of someone who continued to address these things and had some positives on top that Martinez doesn't possess.
Ha Ha Ha Ha.
The Geordiefication continues apace. Midtable and one hand on the cup and it's....
"Ahhh! Der meeja isn't listening to uz...no one sees der torture we 'ave to purrup wid lad. It's not fair lad. We berra get der bedsheets out and rite stuff on it lad. Weev got Moshiris billyunz to spend now lad. We want Maureenyo in.".
Wasn't it a sarcy comment as well?It was one poster, Groucho.
One hand on the cup
Lol lol lol lol
Under bobby, one hand on the cup would need to be 2-0 in the final with 5 minutes to go, even then I'd be worried about conceding 2
I wasn't sure of that, frustration more so. The poster acknowledged that it was an out-there statement.Wasn't it a sarcy comment as well?
Get Royle and Dunc in charge until end of season.
People saying "wait til after the semi", well what will happen if we stick with him and then get battered in the Derby, what will the mood be like leading into the semi then? Confidence will be even more on the floor than it already is. A thrashing in the derby (a real possibility if we play like that again) followed by a defeat at Wembley would, in all probability, see the end of him. But none of us want to have to go through that, of course. I actually think we'd have a better chance in those two games without him and his vapid persona draining all the heart and spirit from the players in all honesty
Thing us mate, when was the last derby we were lifted ? Conveniently forgotten, even thus year we were awful in the game , especially as Liverpool sacked their manager afterwards because they were so poor.Joe, yeah.
Ferguson, no
Spot-on.
I can't even trust him to lift them for the derby game, now. Not that they should need it, mind.
Say what you want about the Kopites but their fans don't tolerate crap managers for 1/10th the time we do.
That said, I'd wait until after the Cup. Once that's over, even if we win it, I'm all for Martinez out banners. Let the media pick up on the discontent we're feeling for once. I'm sick of mediocrity being the status quo at Everton.
Remember when the manager that finished second with them was berated and hounded out just over a year later for being 7th? And then there's us going "LOL yer but 72 points doe 2 yearz ago ladz eez clearly boss". Then you wonder why we've been starved of any success for the best part of 30 years
