What difference does it make if we have a semi final coming up? If we win it do we ignore the turgid league form?
There you go lads celebrate your cup win and turn a blind eye to sliding further down the table each season until you wake up one August morning facing Scunthorpe away for the first game of the season in the championship.
For proof see Blackburn, boro, Birmingham Portsmouth and of course Wigan.

Midtable and at Wembley and some are talking about disgracing the club with a bedsheet protest.

i) You couldn't make it up.

The real issue here is that there's a massive difference between ii) the way that objective people in the football industry view our position and the way a few hundred lost souls amongst our support who are whipped into a frenzy by forums feel about it.

iii)No one's arsed about where we are because we are solidly placed and have a massive chance to make history. Any Geordie effort like that will just raise eyebrows.

Lol.

i) No need to make it up is there? Sadly, it'll probably happen now...

ii) Who, the hacks & dumb pundits that you roundly chide, them?

iii) Solidly bottom half, cool...

I used to really enjoy reading your posts Dave, they were fun...off kilter at times, insightful & provoking at others, admirable all the same.

Now it's just like watching a mad, repetitive womble careering about a littered common without any real aim nor purpose but intent on picking at scraps all the same. But the 'funny' of your stuff has ceased, you're now wildly and deliberately antagonistic and wholly unappreciative of how others view the situation or what it means to them, instead you now appear SO devoted to your 'cause' that you pretty much choose to just insult and deride fellow blues, your use of 'accent' by way of example suggests you're viewing a portion as baaaaaadly thick & blinkered, that's how it paints it mate...then again, is that how you view the local, match-going blues as sounding, like over-enthused BREAD extras on the back-end of a lude-high? I fear, sadly, that you throw in the 'we go again' piffle in your earlier scribble simply for reaction and nothing else...has it really come to that?

You prattle about debate yet many posters pose you questions that you fail to answer nor even acknowledge at times, instead you'll just repeat your odd little '72' mantra by way of deflection and ignore some of the extremely relative & salient points people are trying to make and, indeed, engage with you on...

And so it transpires, post-vault, that you too at some stage felt his position should be questioned if results stayed the same. Hahahaha. Yet people feeling that now you deem their opinion null and verging on hysteria? Strange, man...

It's a shame too, because your a BOSS poster & contributor and there's been times in the past, a while ago, when stuff you've written has actually made me step back and consider/review my stance on him.

Now though, well, you just make me think I'm right about him and have been all along...

Still, onward eh....us and the 'Iranian Tit'.

Dear me.

Pffff...

:coffee:

What I don't get is the calls to keep him until after the semi. If he isn't good enough now why should he be given the semi to prove it?
A new manager would freshen the atmosphere up and get everyone excited about their football again, instead of panicking how many we will get beat by each week.
A caretaker like Royle would do a better job than him until May, defo.

I find it strange how he goes to such lengths to defend a manager simply for not being David Moyes. That's all it is, his hatred of Moyes consumes him, I don't even think deep down, he's really that pro-Martinez. If Steve McClaren had taken over in 2013 and had us bottom half consecutively and playing some of the most miserable football ever seen, Dave would still be here banging on about his 2004 League Cup win for the rest of eternity. Because he's not Moyes

Right now I'd take Ross's mum as a caretaker manager. That advert he was in proved she could motivate a teenage boy to get out of his w@nking chariot and go play football. Even the threat of grounding him might see a performance capable of winning the trophy single handed.

The trouble is, even though, for me, a cup win is, in theory not enough unless I see he can organise a team defensively, if we do win it I will feel euphoric with our first trophy for 20 years and (perhaps stupidly) accept him staying for another season (with subsequent risk of relegation - without Lukaku this season we would have been in serious danger)

I suspect a lot of Martinez-out fans would be similar in this situation. Am not proud of this inconsistency in my thinking - just think it is how me and most other fans would react

Hahahahaha you made me laugh out loud. Thanks lol

Exactly mate he needs to go if we're in a semi final or not
