A very well written response to the questions, thanks for sharing. Personally while I agree with a lot of what you said there is a lot more unsaid.

We are better in possession but often it's without purpose or when we try and mix it up and get the ball forward quickly we are fairly inept - look at some of the distribution yesterday for example. If the players are being coached on technique then that's fine but surely that should include how to focus, taking time on the ball, choose the right option and execute it.

The cup runs are undoubtably better than limping out on earlier rounds but I find it hard to say it's an improvement on Moyes when he consistently delivered good league positions at the same time for most of his time here.

Just my opinion.
I totally agree about not having an effective direct option unless we are counter attacking. It's the first thing I'd be addressing and it is part of the home form being poor.
I can't help thinking that good or bad that may have been the thinking behind the signing of Niasse. We'll see.

What happens if we lose in the semi-final?

Totally depends. If I see a team on the pitch desperate to win and competing in every way with one of two very good teams we're likely to play, then I'll be gutted but it'll indicate little other than the ups and downs of cup football. I'll probably see two semi finals as a better outcome to a season than going out tamely early on and if they've looked as good as West Ham or Man u but lose I'll see that as an improvement on Moyes.

What do you define as a poor season?

One where the standard of football is bad, the games we win are more about attrition than quality, I see little quality there to develop and I see little fight or belief

What would it take for you to agree Martinez should be sacked?

A clear consistent argument that he's causing more harm than good. He inherited an aging squad that lacked in depth quality and wasn't comfortable in possession. I'd want to know we had guaranteed the arrival of someone who continued to address these things and had some positives on top that Martinez doesn't possess.
Have to disagree with this but do see your point. I think the only thing to mask what a poor season is a cup win. We play great in the semi and lose to a dodgy decision say and yes there will be fume and hard luck stories but once the the dust has settled the rest of the poor season comes to the fore.

I have never seen the club community so toxic for a very long time.
Lets hope the club show some leadership soon at the board level before they get caught up in it as well.

I support it.

Only way the fans can express their opinions and make the media take notice. Results haven't been good enough for a long time now, yet the media won't pick up on the fact he should be sacked.

If we get beat by Watford he would only blame it on the fans and the banner

Banners out > martinez gets the tin-tack > new manager comes in > team plays with 'new manager syndrome' (As they did in martinez's 1st season) > we win the pot.

It's THAT easy.

Niasse , Gibson , mcgeady , poor results and even worse performances. I was on the "give him a chance side" but after the last 2 awful performances he has to go . Sitting in Manchester airport last night listening to smarmy Utd supporters saying how well they played made me feel sick . They were only just behind us in the awful stakes . No plan B - bad substitutions and good defenders leaking silly goals . Bobby usual post match interview only heightened the Bulls..t There is some good work done here with the squad and hopefully one or two of the youngsters might break in to the team next year . If we want to move on we need a big man in charge and for me Bobby is not that man !!

Say what you want about the Kopites but their fans don't tolerate crap managers for 1/10th the time we do.

That said, I'd wait until after the Cup. Once that's over, even if we win it, I'm all for Martinez out banners. Let the media pick up on the discontent we're feeling for once. I'm sick of mediocrity being the status quo at Everton.
True that , no way would they put up with the crap we are getting, I don't know the figures for Rodgers and Roy but I will bet there better than bobby's.
So it now not good enough for the rs ,but good enough for us says a lot about are current fanbase if that's true.
They have changed manager currently have one of there worst teams in memory , and are above us and still in a cup so I don't think its them that's got it wrong at the moment.

Just to pick up this point. We could well be playing west ham so perfect example. The performance if the team in that game recently was on the whole fine, especially under the circumstances. The issue was down to the manager not reacting to what was happening, using tactics that left us weak at the back and easily exploited and cost us the game.

That is what is holding us back, poor management, so I wouldn't care if we put up a good performance and lost because of that reason, it would prove Martinez is a hindrance to himself.

If the team played like we did against Chelsea and lost, personally I'd have no complaints about it, but you have to question why the team can do that one week and follow it with such poor performances like arsenal

Ha Ha Ha Ha.

The Geordiefication continues apace. Midtable and one hand on the cup and it's....

"Ahhh! Der meeja isn't listening to uz...no one sees der torture we 'ave to purrup wid lad. It's not fair lad. We berra get der bedsheets out and rite stuff on it lad. Weev got Moshiris billyunz to spend now lad. We want Maureenyo in.".
Oh David, what on earth has happened to you.

Utterly petulant behaviour because you got it SO wrong on Martinez.

If being a Geordie is wanting your team to win, then where do I sign up?

21 wins in 68

I keep saying that a decent season for us would be 8th or 9th an ok season -- my prediction last summer.

Get rid of the deadwood and finish building the squad.

Next season go for top 6 then 4th.

This season hasnt even finished yet though.
Thing is mate. The deadwood as you call it doesn't play so replacing them won't make any difference to the first 11.

If we go all the way in the cup, yes. Why, would you rather we got a few places up the table and have no chance of silverware?

I think the burden is on you to defend your position, tbh.

Again...'either/or'

HAVE SOME PRIDE FFS.
