See your point but sometimes young players can be ruined and break his confident which will damage him where distin can shrug off his mitsakes.

But, shouldn't a seasoned pro who (continually) makes mistakes and shrugs them off be roundly castigated or dropped or retired?
Better to have young 'un who will hurt and strive to eradicate those errors than a shoulder shrugger on the wane ?

No problem in that but I fail to see where 200 passes between the back 4 is going to progress the everton system. There is a big difference between the way for example barca play and the way way we are playing now. Xavi and inestia seek the ball move it forward and work in the oppositions half. We did last year. Now we work in our own half and are prone to mistakes. 10 direct goals came from mistakes this season alone. The intensity is not there at pressing the ball like a possession team like barca do. We stand off like as if the other team has herpes and then when the shoot g Barry will turn his back. You don't need coaching badges or manuals to get basics right

exactly, lots of talk about styles but we seem to be a mish mash of 2. If he doesn't want to press and let the oppo have it to half way then we set up as counter attack. If he want's us to dominate possession and pass the ball , then we need to hunt the ball down like a pack of rabid dogs when we turn it over, not just walk around.

Great news, so while we don't have the players who are technically gifted to playing a fast passing game like Barcelona we will continue to struggle until either we are in a relegation fight and Bobby is sacked or Bill provides money for new players. I think the former is the most likely.

That interview frightens me.

It is like Hitler ranting on and on at his general as the Russians encircled Stalingrad by telling them to fight on to the last man no mater what because victory is just around the corner.

Martinez is insisting that his ways are right and that the players will "have to play his way....but be better about it".

And he won't "compromise" on his "philosophy".
