Marriner

  • Penalty was soft but can see why it was given.
  • Both high foots were dodgy, but I'd say yellow could be argued fair.
  • Barkley one was never a dive however, that was shocking
  • He had a poor game Marriner, but he isn't the reason we lost, and let's not go all kopite over this yeah?
mariner is not the reason we lost. BUT HE IS THE REASON CITY WON

Just because you are second best, it doesn't always mean you deserve to lose. It happens all the time that the better team loses, just needs a little luck or one moment of skill etc.

However, if the ref doesn't give the fair cracks, then you have no chance.

I thought we looked shattered and beaten when 3 shocking decisions went against us.
City were nothing special. Would have been a great chance to get some confidence back, but it got drained even more with those decision.

No way. If that's a penalty we may as well get used to seeing ten penalties per game. Contact does not always equal foul. One of the biggest misconceptions out there these days thanks to know-nothings like Redknapp. Even Milner looked shocked. Says it all.

I don't care how poor we may have been for large parts of the game yesterday, that refereeing performance was disgusting. It wasn't the usual refereeing performance where they misjudge certain things. Pretty much every 50/50 decision and even some blatant fouls by them on us were conveniently missed by him.

As close to cheating as you will see really.

The two incidents that topped his performance off for me was firstly when Toure (think it was him) was dragging back Eto'o for a good 5 seconds resulting in Eto'o trying to carry on but messing up his pass and Mariner not bringing it back for a free kick. Secondly that poor tackle by Toure on Eto'o on the edge of the box not being given as a booking. Eto'o went down in pain, and I can rarely remember an incident in the Premier League era where a player being hacked down and rolling around in pain doesn't result in the opposition player receiving a yellow card.

Disgrace from Mariner.

Correct. It's a contact sport..

Goals on Sunday have just called it the way we all saw it. 2 reds, yellow for Barry 99 out of a hundred refs wouldn't have given the penalty...... 'Mr. Marriner we will be watching you over the coming weeks '

Didnt like the way he was laughing and joking with some of there players to or smiling back at our lads when they asking questions on his decisions

Not sure how he can be seen as worse than clatternberg tbh.

Clatternberg cost us a derby we we're most likely going to win.

Marriner made bad decisions in a game we played awfully and would have probably lost anyway
