What annoys me is the lack of outage from EFC about this scandalous refereeing performance.

It is just like the shoulders have been shrugged.

Basically, I feel Bobby should be facing a fine for going on TV and calling it for what it was.

The likes of Warnock and Big Sam would have had the TV studio down round them in anger.

Absolutely, as a club we enjoy and are rightly proud of being a class act... however, we were wronged on Saturday and at some point - and Saturday was that point - Everton should have stood up and been counted as saying enough is enough. Never mind the penalty, bad decision as it was, we all get them... the kung-fu kicks on Sam and GazBaz were simply shocking.

I am still seething/frustrated and losing sleep about this, as much for Roberto's lame reaction as anything, Mariner gets away with this without any great exposure because Roberto doesn't take one for the team by giving both barrels on T.V and press a la Fergie and taking a 10 grand fine, what's that to him.

Lame reaction?

That kind of strong statement - without the swearing - should have been made to the press.
The fine he'd have been hit with would have been worth it to highlight what an absolute shocking display of refereeing we'd endured.

I think its time the club grew up and realised that you have to shout very loudly to get listened to by the FA and the league authorities
If we felt, as I do, that our professional capability of having a positive outcome in a football match was undermined by shocking refereeing then shout it from the rooftops
Ferguson and Arsene Whinger and Mourinho always complain(ed) first

The FA, UEFA and FIFA are not accountable to anybody, just like local councils* and government* - they can do whatever they. They don't answer communications from the public especially if you have a valid, logical or reasonable point to make, because they don't have a valid, logical or reasonable answer. They can afford to lose the odd informed voter, because there are plenty of idiot Sun readers to take their place. They just hide behind closed doors, make their decisions, scratch one anothers' backs and get on wallowing in bathfulls of money. The FA, UEFA and FIFA have the financial clout to defend any action against the public with smart alec lawyers. Govt and councils have armies and police to protect them against public insurgents - so they are both able to ignore the irritating public. Both richly reward the media darlings who will consequently NOT report anything untoward - unless it gets REALLY big - like if Sep Blatter is caught in the nip, wearing a tutu splattered in the blood of a sacrificial goat, but SMOKING INSIDE A BUILDING.

In a democratic society, all of these institutions are SUPPOSED to represent the best interests of the PEOPLE who support their fields. As they clearly don't, it seems logical to deduce we are not in a truly democratic society. The media do their best to persuade us and brainwash us that we are.

*apart from when there's an election in the offing - then a few of them come around knocking at people's doors, wearing a rosette and asking if there's a baby they can kiss in front of the cameras. Here the media decide who they want us to vote for by photoshopping the baby out, if it's a political party they're against, and replacing it with a mud covered piglet to revolt us. As though kissing a piglet is somehow less wholesome than an ex-public schoolboy kissing a stranger's baby.

Oh gawd - I've made myself feel ill.

He was strong enough and clear enough without crossing the line, him getting an FA charge for going off his bonce won't alter anything nor improve our image within the refereeing fraternity either. Fergie got away with it as he was Fergie, he was trading off being a legend of the game

Yeh, Chang Elephant's a bit of a prat here. Surely even we, however poor our performances have been, would have got something out of a 9-man City.

yeah and you're a bit of a micro penis

Can't blame the ref yesterday though, we weren't clinical enough. Again.

Isn't he paid to make correct decisions ?

He is, the players are also paid to play well.

So the players can be blamed when they under-perform but not the ref ? Why's that like.

Yeah it's the refs fault we're playing so badly.

Excellent x

To be fair, I was quite impressed with Gary Monk when he came out and had a go at referees recently. Sometimes you've just got to say enough's enough because the Marriner's, Clattenburg's and Taylor's of this world will just turn in shocking performance after shocking performance and nothing really changes

Clubs spend millions putting teams together and developing talent. The players work hard perfecting technique and tactics. They put everything into playing a game, with tens of thousands of supporters in attendance. Then some pillock of a ref just throws it away with absolute ludicrous decisions. Football has become a joke...........

Great POST,Thats exactly THE SORT OF BULLSHIT DEMOCRACY WE LIVE IN. And if things get really bad we,ll start a war just to deflect attention from the real issue,s

So the berk won't be refereeing this weekend, whoopy, bloody, doo, doesn't benefit us whatsoever,he'll shaft us yet again next time and so it will continue until we grow a set of balls club, players and management and show that we have a backbone.

The flip side of that is referees, and those in authority the world over and in any walk of life, tend to follow the path of least resistance.

Ergo a ref in a forthcoming fixture against say, Arsenal, will be more likely to find against us in a controversial 50/50 incident as he knows he won't be faced with a baying mob of players surrounding him as he would with Wilshere, Fabregas and the rest.

Imagine that penno had been given against Arsenal....or Mourinho....or Mark Hughes.

He would have been mobbed by their players in a fit of righteous indignation and injustice.

He would know any transgression against Arsenal would see Wenger shouting from the highest rooftop and not be greeted with muted, almost non existent outrage from what I can see from EFC.

No sir, being the nice guy in these situations makes you a doormat.

Have you tried writing it all down, mate?
