Marko Arnautovic

Im very sorry. Can you find it in yourself to forgive me? I do like you.

I just dont think we cant sign someone because he appears to be a tool, how do we really know? Hes got a bit of snide about him which is good at times.

I like the lad, tall, powerful, quick and can assist and score.
I like you too mate.
And I'm probably guilty of intuiting persona (re Arnautovic) without material substance...I don't know the guy from Adam.

Given this, my post was possibly a mite ill-considered...especially in current summer transfer climes of such emotional vicissitude.

I guess I just want people who pull on the Everton jersey to really want to play for us.

Naive of me I guess, in these moneyed times.

Marko > All 3 of Mane (for £35M?!) + Clev + McGeady.

I know Mane is RS, I'm just pointing out his price so Marko for £12.5M is a steal in my opinion. Niasse for £13M couldn't score in a brothel yet this guy is Stoke's top scorer/assist/chance maker etc etc. Steal.

I don't see him as a replacement for Kev, nor do I think he's as good but they both disappear in some games. To be able to switch one for the other at half time would be a lovely addition I reckon.

Besides goals, assists and other important stats, we should now make sure that attitude is right up there. So if a guy's not GOING-WITH-HIM-ON-A-DATE good enough, swerve!

A really good player he is. Would love to get him for that money.

Great player on his day, but blows hot and cold. Can't see the point of it given we have two of the exact same types of player in Mirallas and Deulofeu.

Only thing Arnautovic has on those two is height and physicality.

If it means were getting rid of Mirallas, I'm all for it though.

Wash you mouth out young tubes. If anything I don't wan Arnie if it means Mirallas going, I wouldn't mind seeing them compete or Mirallas being moved central rotating with Barkley and Juan Mata or Delboy.

Could be just the sort of player to put that additional bit of competition type pressure on the likes of Gerri and Mirrallas to force a bit of consistency from them.

I work and live near Stoke and I have to put up with them every day. I'm not particularly bothered about Arnautovic as a footballer. I mean, he's alright, and he'll give us four or five outstanding performances a season, but he's temperamental and when he doesn't fancy it he'll infuriate us.

With all that said, I desperately want Everton to sign him JUST so that lot know they've still got long ways to go before they can count themselves alongside us.

Perhaps Koeman is thinking along the lines of pushing Deulofeu up front permanantly as second striker as per Saturday, with this fella taking his place? That could accommodate Mirallas too.
I was thinking the same thing. Mirallas has been known to play on the right occasionally. Not as effective but plausible. Delboy could play just off the shoulder of Lukaku to run round using his pace to find channels and annoy people, if nothing more than dragging defenders out. This would at least give Lukaku his customary 8 seconds to turn himself around as he seems to be always facing away from goal when he receives the ball. Ross behind both of them means we could only play one DM or play a back 3 instead of 4. I'm not familiar enough with Koeman's previous styles to know which he would prefer there though...

I think he looks an astute signing in all honesty. I hope it may allow us to offload some of the squad players such as Lennon & Cleverley. He has ability, pace and gets goals as well as being a lad who can play down the left. We are aligning him for about half and a third of what Liverpool have paid for two lads of what I would say are similar profile and ability.

I also like the fact he is a big powerful lad. We lacked that last season. Finally I hope it means Mirallas may be deployed as a striker more where I think he could be lethal.

perhaps.

tbh though Grouch, I personally can't see this is as a starter.

I'd be happy if we got him, as I think he's a good player, but for what it's worth I think Kev can offer exactly the same in terms of being a very similar player.

So you sign up here 20 or so days ago, then another one appears on a different Everton forum with the same user name yesterday?

I think it's fairly conclusive you're a WUM and a liar.

@caught
I think you have far too much time on your hands and a huge obsession with me.

I am here and full of opinions - deal with it or put me on ignore :)

Similar player to Mirrallas, but both a bit inconsistent, could bring out the best in each other with both of them fighting it out for the left wing position. Both can play all along the front line so it could be a good signing.

We know Koeman is partial to 2 men up front and has often had a "runner" up front (ie Shane Long). I think this would really suit Mirallas who has pace and the ability to finish. I remember early into Martinez's tenure against Chelsea he had a cameo up front and looked dangerous. I was always surprised Martinez didn't use him more there as he was far more a Martinez striker than Kone ever was.

If we were to get Arnuatovic it may also allow us to move on what I consider some of the deadwood (ie Lennon, Mcgeady and Cleverley) and hopefully recoup more than we have paid.

I would have no problems if we moved Niasse and Kone on moving Mirallas and Deulofeu to be strikers as they would both be good options. In some games if Rom's not at his best, with Arnuatovic they could play as a 2/3 and cause real headaches for sides.
