Mark Sampson sacked by FA

Context is key, you're right. What suggestion is there that the players character hints at repeated arrests?

Always find it odd people who are worried that they're remarks are going to make them seem like a pervert or racist. Most normal people don't have that worry. It's the equivalent of 'can't even speak to a woman these days'. It's a very particular type of person who needs to worry.

There isn't any suggestion she is a wrong'un but equally we don't know what she is like as a person. We get fed what we get from what is released but that doesn't build the full picture.

As for people who are worried, what if they are slightly on the autistic spectrum? Painfully shy? Nervous? Naturally goofy? Words come out quickly and can be taken in way they weren't meant to be, you could get two people say the exact same thing meant in the same way and create different outcomes just because one is a jack the lad, happy go lucky sort that people can easily gloss over.

We have created a society where someone has lost his job due to allegations which he has been cleared from (and it's not like there were brutal signs of racism) tied with something that happened 5 years ago that was known when he took the job. Taking into account his age I would like to think what happened then would have no influence especially seeing he has been coaching another ladies team for 4 years since.

People should be aware of what they are saying. Especially in positions of power. Stop inventing a world where everyone is constantly on guard because it just doesn't exist. If you feel you're constantly wary of what you're saying because people have accused you repeatedly of racism then you should look at that. Have there been repeated instances of autistic people losing their jobs or being belittled for making remarks that weren't offensive but were taken as such?

He lost his job because the FA have had things they should have looked more closely at previously, brought to light. They've explicitly said not for any perceived racism

Of course they have and it's bull. How would any of us feel if we got called in by HR tomorrow and said we are sacking you from this job you have had for 4 years for something we had a report on for 4 years and have decided to act on it now even though we knew about it all that time. I think we would all be fine with it...not..

Most of us aren't in jobs where are public conduct is so important and forms part of our terms of employment. The FA have dealt with this atrociously but it still rests that if this is the reason past accusations have come to light then hopefully it shows that racist jokes, banter, whatever are still racist and you will get punished for them in this context.

Not heard a 'not' sentence turn for over a decade so kudos on that blast

I'd agree if they hadn't seen it already and it was already all out there for them to evaluate. They even sent him on a course to deal with relationships and not crossing the boundaries. So they acknowledged the issue and gave additional raining to solve it. Now they need rid of him it's a excuse for them to use.

they say there's no smoke without fire

but at the same time there's innocent until proven guilty

Yep but I think he was doing something wrong, getting too close to certain players or even having a relationship with them. However the FA sent him on 2 course re this and felt re education was the correct solution.

Doing something wrong doesn't mean getting sacked, re training is wide spread in all work places when needed.

Well it carries racial connotations, that's why stuff has been made of it, and fair enough

You shouldn't make racially insensitive jokes to black people when you're a wealthy white man in a position of authority. That's just common sense
It's poor taste but don't see how it's racist, her parents originate from africa, the ebola outbreak was in africa. Ignorant and poor taste yes, racist? Not in a million years.
Tbh I'm sick of the amount of times people of colour play the race card, it devalues and insults the genuine victims of racism.
Similar to the amount of women that wrongfully cry rape (ched evans case) makes genuine victims less likely to be taken serious and allow the culprits to escape justice

Am I understanding right that he was investigated 4 years ago and cleared by the FA and the same information that was turned up in the investigation has now been seen by different people at the FA who determined he should now be fired?

If that is true then:

1 - He has a good case against the FA for unfair dismissal

2 - The FA should be firing the people who made the decision to let him stay on after the initial investigation as they clearly didn't do their jobs.

To me it looks like the FA employed someone who they shouldn't in the first place. I am willing to believe this was a mistake due to not being diligent enough.
They decided the course of least resistance was to stick with him and paid out £80,000 to keep a lid on the situation.
When the heat started to be ranked up they done what they thought would protect them and sacked him.v
My reading of the situation, based on very little,is that both have been at fault.
