Mark Clattenberg....

Just looked at SSN's 'Monday View', with Alan Smith and Tony Cascarino. Unbelievable. They both agreed Suarez should have been sent off and that it was a penalty in the last minute. They were less sure over the first half penalty. Amazingly though they also concluded that Clattenburg had had a good game. [Poor language removed] me, his bad decisions virtually determine the outcome of the PL championship and he gets plaudits off the media!

It is very unusual for a referee to ref a game with the same club within 6 games. Clattenberg reffed the RS/Manu on 16 march and then the City/RS within a month. I know what the reaction in the RS dominated sports media will be if Webb gets the Chelsea/RS game.

Dont think there can be to many,if any complaints about his performance yesterday, refed the game pretty well and got all decisions pretty much bang on,even allowing play on for the 2nd goal

Excellent yesterday, one thing impressive about Clattenburg is he is usually right up with the play. Had a great view of the handball yesterday.

He had a very good performance yesterday. I will never forget his corrupt performance in that derby, but he certainly isn't the worst ref. Andre Marriner and John Moss have been absolutely terrible in every game I have seen them this season. Moss cannot keep up with play which surely is the very first point a ref should be able to do!

Blatant throw in given the other way at one stage, and denied us at least one blatant penalty (the Smalling hand ball - arm extended beyond natural position and prevented opposition control of the ball) before having to give us the utterly obvious one or it would have been murderous in the ground.

Then he realised United didn't have a chance either way as they were so bad and couldn't do a thing to alter the game, such as give them a penalty, as no chance came his way.

It wasn't a good performance - it was just that we were so good as to prevent him from influencing the game.

Harsh to give that as a Penalty.
