Marcus f*** Bent?!

He at times did go through the motions mate. I liked him but i still believe we should be moving forwards, not backwards.

Getting someone to give us options isnt moving backwards surely, he could do a job whilst we look for something permanent.

We ain't getting anyone in, not even a loan.
.

consider...

Moyes "We are looking to bring 'striker' in, on loan first with an option to buy"
An Agent (knowing full well its cesspool fc twice then arsenal then manure) "Cash up front in one go, signing on fee and my piece of course"
Moyes "We cant go to that, I want to run the rule over 'striker' before I make any lasting decisions"
An Agent "Cant help you then, ta ra"

Every agent in the world, maybe even ones on other planets arent moving their players around, just in case City come sniffing around. Greed is the constant.

Quite right but there must be better out there than Bent to fill the void. Do you really want a Jeffers-esque return mark II??

I'd say he was great for the first 6 months, and did all the running up front. But once Beattie came in and he wasn't the main man he lost interest. He had an ego and was disruptive, kind've like Anelka minus the talent.

It's not a coincidence he's had so many clubs, it's not due to a lack of ability or they wouldn't have signed him in the first place, it's due to his personality and commitment.

A huge no from me!

Not for me, he was a poor Andy Johnson.

Would rather see Moyes either bring in someone fresh or show a bit more faith in Jutkiewicz.

I'd be keeping an eye on what's happening at City, if they get Santa Cruz or Bellamy, we may be able to grab Vassell, Benjani or Sturridge on the cheap/loan - all 3 would do a job now and be more than capable back-up after Saha & Yakubu are fit.

There was a game or two where he just didn't look arsed, the Millwall game especially. Other than that though he did give his all and he had a good time here, he was a good short term signing by Moyes.

Would I take him back? Probably yes. He's another body and he's capable of playing upfront on his own. He can hold the ball up, works well with Cahill and has always had pace to burn. So yes I would, we are pretty desperate at the moment.

It won't happen though, he won't be coming back here.

So if he signed for us this he would be thinking, I've already worked my stones off for this club, think I'll just go through the motions? He would be perfect for Cahill to support for 6 months

I don't know what he'd be like if he came back, if he came back feeling fresh & up for the battle then he could be a decent stop gap signing. It feels wrong saying this because I thought we'd gone past the days of looking at the likes of Marcus Bent but the simple fact is we're desperate for options & he'd be 1.

I can't see it happening though & if he came back with the same attitude as he had when he left we might as well just not have him. I hope we can do far better than people like him but we need numbers so at the minute I'd settle for average players with Premiership experience who could play the odd game while we're short & Bent could be 1 of those. All depends on whether he'd be up for it

There's more chances of Steven Seagal being bent than us getting Marcus Bent, Darren Bent or anyone else for that matter.

I'm pissed off at the Maldonado thing - was hoping to get someone in for the derby's to put the shits up the RS but that's not going to happen.

What's Amokatchi doing now days?

i getting down with the 6 midfielders formation.

i won the league with that on footy masters on the amiga.

you see the secret to winning the league in that game is signing simon osbourne from crystal palace, and dale gordan from norwich.

1. He's [Poor language removed]
2. NEVER ever go back.
3. He's [Poor language removed]
4. It would be a step back.
5. Cahill or Fellaini are better.
6. He's [Poor language removed].....

7. We need players.
8. We've got no money.
9. We'd probably get him on loan.
10. He could be useful backup for Cahill and Fellaini.
11. Cahill usually gets injured and misses alot of the season.
12. Anichebe also picks up niggling injuries.
13. Fellaini gets suspended regularly.
14. Saha always gets injured.
15. Bent doesn't usually get injured or suspended.
16. We need players, we won't get many better options sadly.

He ran his socks off and drew out defences. But he was never really up to premiership standard, and doesn't seem to be exactly lighting up the Championship either.
I'd much rather see some creative use of the payers we have.
Ossie can run with the ball and has a better touch in front of goal than Bent or Vic. Why not play him in front of Cahill with VDM taking his place on the right of midfield.
