Transfer Rumour Marcos Rojo

Amazing really that we lack leaders. Last season we had 5 players who have captained their countries and another (Klaassen) who captained his previous club to a European final.
It is strange but when we play we seem to lack a driving force on the field, a player that forces those around him to up their game. I think I should probably say that Seamus is the exception , but he missed so much of last season , he actually does seem to be a leader.

In terms of actually defending, I'd say Rojo is better than Smalling.

However, Smalling's pace gets him out of a lot of trouble he gets himself into - it always has. That's both a blessing and a curse. It's like VVD, except VVD is far better all round.

In terms of style of player to fit a high line, though, both Rojo and Smalling - imo - fit the bill more than Mina...

Of course we do.

It should have been Barkley, for whatever reason it isn't.

We have nobody prepared to get on the ball and drive the team forward. Davies tries, but he's too inconsistent (young) and gets rollocked on here for trying to at least push us up the pitch.

We need a solid CB who has pride in not getting done by strikers. We have a handful of jellyfish who think it's ok to get mugged by bang average opponents.

It's a mentality thing as much as ability.

Holgate is one of those classy type modern CBs people bang on about.

We need two yard dogs next to him doing the dirty work.

Think I'm in the minority who wouldn't mind this lad, for the right price. He's quick, strong and is a bad snide, something which we desperately lack. I know everyone wants Mina, but until the world cup had anyone seriously seen him play much? Any rate, either of them would be an improvement over the utter crabs we have at the moment.

Fair play. Like you said I’ll take Smalling. Superior than our current CBs.

He'd be entertaining I suppose...

...not sure why you all like Smalling, though. He seems to get roasted almost as much as our guys. He may be big and fast, but he looks slow footed to me in the same way that Keane does. Super fast on the track and in a straight line, but slow reactions and lack of balance makes him a poor defender in space. Smalling gets to play in a very defensive system with lots of support.

Every time I've seen him he's been lucky not to have been sent off. Not sure he'd get the same leniency from the officials wearing the royal blue.

The officials wearing the royal blue aren't the ones you need to worry about mate !

I’m warming to him, if it wasn’t for the injury, the fee and the wrong side of 25 I’d be in
