Under pressure Everton manager Marco Silva says the club needs a period of "stability" as he bids for a first league win in over a month.

The Blues have lost their last three league games to turn the heat up on the 42-year-old coach at the start of his second season at Goodison.

Silva insists he understands the fans' frustrations and says it is up to him and the Everton players to "convince" them this poor form is just a blip.

But the Portuguese coach, who oversaw an eighth-placed finish last term, has also stressed the need for the club to avoid more "instability" having sacked three managers since May 2016.

"This club, in the last few seasons, had so many examples of stability and instability," Silva said.

"Look at both situations and see what was best for the solution for the club. It is so easy, so easy in my opionion. Ask that to the fans sometimes and it is not easy because they are emotional but, first of all, it has to come from us, inside the club."

Everton left the field after defeat to Sheffield United to jeers but received some warm applause from the Goodison faithful following the battling defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

On both occasions, sections of fan-base left the ground before the full-time whistle and Silva fully empathises with those exasperated supporters.

"The fans, they are the fans and we have to understand them as well," he said.

"I could come here and say don't make the judgement until the end of the game, not in the middle but fans are fans, they are emotional and you have to understand that.

"The emotions of the fans and what they feel...maybe if I was in their place I would do more or less the same.

"The main thing for me is what we do and think as a football club because everywhere, at the biggest clubs in the world, they are emotional, they want to see your striker score three goals in one game, your goalkeeper save all the shots and they want to see all the team performing as a wall.

"You know our fans, when you are in a good moment we can beat all teams in the world but when we are not, they have doubts, so it is up us to convince them that way will be the best way for them to support the team.

"I fully understand them but, first of all, myself and the players need the calm and patience to keep doing these things.

"The support is important and with stability and with patience we will arrive at that level again."

Blaming the fans.....

The inevitable is coming.

I see he is calling for stability at the club lol

Blokes absolutely shameless

Blaming the fans.....

Yes it’s us the fans fault for playing 2 defensive midfielders at home. For constantly picking Morgan and losing to villa, Bournemouth and the blades.

Yes it is just a blip that we have been absolutely cack for the first 2 months of this season. Nothing to do with questionable management and players being poor. 45 games into his tenure and he still doesn't know his best team and has no plan a or b and continues to baffle everyone with his team selections and formations.

Stability begins by getting rid of this inconsistent numpty along with his blips and his happy clapper fetish.

That we fans are losing patience is irrelevant. When the Mosh and Kenwright have had enough, he will be on his way. Not before.

Not really because the stronger the boos and groans from the fans the more it'll be recognised by Mosh and the more chance he will be sacked.

I'd like to see him given a chance to turn it around personally.

The league is that poor now that a mini run of wins would have any team into the European places. Silva has the players to do that and it’s up to him to change his ways, wave goodbye to his struggling 4231 and and start picking up points.
