Concedes too many.
Any average manager would get the results he does with the players he has at his disposal.

Not saying his a bad manager, but he isn't a great manager either.

Missing a trick not going in for mourinho here, yes his style is boring but it gets you to finals and he wins trophies.

Your obsession with Mourinho is down right weird

Corky stop trying to score cheap likes by attempting to belittle a visiting non RS supporter.

I don't see anything contentious in his post whatsoever, they have a decent team, played well in their first season back, they're better organised than us, have a better manager and they're playing in Europe.

At no point was he condescending or saying they're a bigger club than us and I believe he was being respectable whilst being totally honest.

Wake up and smell the coffee, results will tell at the end of the season who is the better team, in the meantime stop trying to give it large as usual thinking everyone on here is backing you.

@Wolf man all the best for the coming season, good luck in Europe, I hope we're looking down on you at the end of the season though.

Hmm but they weren't better today though, were they? One season wonders i think.

There you go. He just simply can’t win. Win, lose or draw, we’ll moan. Just beaten a team that everyone has been creaming over all summer and declaring them miles ahead of us, and now we’ve beaten them they’ve been written off as crap and a “favourable” fixture.

Was I creaming myself over wolves this summer? Did wolves actually play well today? They pumped it long and relied on throw ins ffs. Plus they’ve been playing Europa and are clearly expending a lot of energy into that, resulting in them leaving several key players (Moutinho and Jota) on the bench. We should be beating them at home. It’s a bare minimum expectation and not unreasonable to say so.

Not having expectations is just pointless and renders the whole experience moot. If I wanted to smile when we win and be a little down when we lose I’d change support to Bournemouth who are plucky and just happy to be in the league. It’s like last season when we battered Burnley 5-1 and then followed it up with back to back defeats. You were probably singing his praises after Burnley only to be feeling totally different just a few days later. I prefer to comment and assess with more evidence, and this break now for internationals is a good starting point for that.

He’s done good. Should have done better. Is that really such a bad thing to say? He’ll get consistent praise when he delivers consistent results and performances- hence why I praised him for the home form in my initial comment.

Watford and Wolves at home were by no means a guaranteed 6 points. That’s two of our closest rivals in the table from last season and we’ve beaten both of them. We wouldn’t expect to lose away at those grounds and their fans probably felt the same coming to Goodison. I don’t know why some fans think we have a divine right just to win because we’re Everton. Wolves are a very good team. Marco deserves credit for a decent start to the season. Let’s be honest we were unlucky against Palace and should have won so it’s been 4 decent performances and one bad one to start the season. Not bad at all .

We lacked a bit of luck against Villa too. Should get 1 point at least.

Both of Wolves goals were a little lucky imo, First Seamus should have easily gotten rid of it, Might need to look at it again though but it looks like he had time to clear it.
Second is just your typical yard dog brainless long throw in for a goal which not a lot of teams do in the Premiership and Digne was caught ball watching.

There are some serious salty Evertonians about these days . Easy to see why though. Our first season back in the premier league we finish best of the rest in 7th spot . To rub salt into the wound we take 4 points off you guys , I guess upsetting the natural order you seem to be accustomed too . Looking forward to our game tonight , and would gladly take a loss Sunday if it meant getting into the europa league group stages .

Like all Sets of fans you have some deluded idiots that at the start of the season , decide to open there mouth and preach utter tripe about finishing in the top 4 , but let’s be real here , best Everton can hope for like the rest of us is where wolves finished last season barring a major **** up by one of the other top 6 clubs .
Good luck for Sunday , looking forward to my returning visit to Goodison and hopefully leaving with all 3 points and massive smug smile on my face . UTW ;)

You got 1 of your 4 points through some appalling officiating. The other was timing, you played us at an optimum moment (the week after Millwall defeated us).

Nobody is in the least bit bothered you finished 7th not us. We regularly finish 7th/8th and it's seen as a disappointment. We have been doing that (well 4-8th) for the best part of 15 years. Nobody is interested in you doing it for one season, Burnley did it the season before you, it's not really an issue.

The am for both clubs will obviously be to look to try and break into the top 6. If you can do that, it's likely you are in the shake-up for the top 4.

I think you will regress, for reasons outlined previously. You scraped above us narrowly in what you lot think was some miracle season of success, and we view as a season when we wanted to sack our manager. You only finished above us become of appalling officiating in the game at your place. It's an achievement I suppose, but as indicated, like with Burnley there is not an awful lot of concern about yourselves. When you consistently finish in the top 8 over a 15 year period, then maybe we can have another discussion.

Just thought I would pop in again this season before our game Tomoz so win draw or lose you can’t label me as a glory hunting poster :) watched your game today and since I class as you as the same round about level and yard stick for this season , I can definitely say we have nothing to fear . You doubted me last season and give it the Johnny big balls when I said we are a level above regarding manager and team . A lot of your forum members still think that you will finish higher than us this season as we have the extra games in Europe . Aka Chester blue (deluded fan ) and the rest of the doubters , wolves are here to stay ! Hopefully it gels with all your new signings which I do actually rate , but as far as breaking into the top 6 , 4 . I think not . Same goes for wolves , we are both still fighting for best of the rest ;) best of luck for rest of season and look forward to both games when we meet once again . UTW

Are you serious? You finished above us, solely on the basis of an appalling officiating decision at your ground. We doubted you, and it was proven to be the case. In what was an awful season for us, you were as bad as us.

Come back when you are actually a credible cut above us (like we have been most of my life watching Everton) not 1 place above us. You may be waiting a while though.

On a side note, having watched you today, you may feel we have nothing to worry about, but I can assure you, there is absolutely nothing to fear from your side. You're not as good as us and that has been categorically proven today. Good luck getting your first win of the season.

Im really happy with that.Wolves are a rival for the 7th place spot, but we laid down bit of a marker today.Bournemouth away is next. And that place is bit of a bogey ground for us.But at the moment, this team is motoring along nicely.
