2019/20 Marco Silva

I feel like for all the talk of tactics and players selection what we are really missing is someone to build a culture where players believe and expect to win. That's what Martinez tried to do and it worked until his tactical shortcomings caught up to him. It's also a massive part of what Pep and Klopp have done at their respective clubs. It's also as much the reason that post Ferguson for United has gone poorly as poor signings have been. Ferguson had a culture of success that never fell off.

So for Silva I just don't see that. I don't see him being the guy to inspire a team in that way and without that it doesn't really matter if he's the smartest tactical manager (he isn't) that has ever lived.

Make your players feel invincible and crave victory.

Perhaps he got lost in translation and is focusing on being 'invisible' instead.

Theirs that's much wrong witg the line up I don't even know where to begin

I tend not to comment on lineups before a match as you can easily look daft after it, which I now may. That line up is so uninspiring. Iwobi on the bench whilst Walcott starts over him? 2 defensive mids yet again. I wasn't looking forward to this match and I'm not even more so now.
