I think Silva needs revolutionary thoughts. It is easier in the long run to motivate players to play offensive football than to play controlling football. I also think players become passive and cautious with this mindset. Eg. Klopp's philosophy is quite simple, close them down, and attack with vertical passes. It is a simple philosophy, but it requires interaction between the players, endurance, speed and precision.
We have some holes in the squad - especially in midfield - but offensive football is more than just tiki taka. Any professional football player can run. Jordan Henderson for example. is not God's gift to football, but he can run. I firmly believe that our formation should be 4-3-3. Players like Richarlison, DCL, and Kean all possess great speed and mobility. We have to use them together. All of these can rotate places, and they should not lie wide like classic wings.
In midfield we can use GS (played there often for Iceland) and Iwobi as box-to-box players / offensive. The number 6 position we have, among others, Delph and eventually Gbamin. On the the backs we have Coleman and Digne - who can both cover the sides offensively on their own.
We must attack, attack and attack. I don't see the point of defending a 14-8 place in the league. Results are not everything.
