Option 1: Sack him now and a new managers gets a few mashings as his start? Not ideal psychologically but surely he gets a free pass and the new manager bounce might perform a miracle or two

Option 2: Let him cling on and get the smashings out of the way - saves a new boss this horrible start - at the risk there is sweet FA for managers available in January and we are bottom of the table

No brainer to me ... Option 1
