In terms of winning titles and CL I agree however in terms of competing for the top 4 and domestic trophies / Europa Leagues he's still one of the best managers in the game imo.

We have a weird obsession in the english media/game to label any manager over a certain age as past it yet hardly any young hipster manager (including Poch) has won anything near what the likes of Jose and Wenger have even in their "decline" years.

Wenger was hammered by the media in his final years but his Arsenal side still won trophies and played alot better than the current rabble under Emery.

Jose simply doesnt have a track record of making bad sides good.

Hes lost some of what made him the best also.

Hes still 1 of the best managers in the world, but I personally think him being here would be a quite terrible thing for this club.

Managers have to fit clubs and Everton and Jose is a terrible fit.

It would be an utter crapshow.

Best way for me to describe it is you're sat in a bar chatting to a decent looking girl (Silva) she's nice and pleasant - you've had bad experiences in the recent past with blaggers (Brown Shoes) and cheats (Koeman) who've let you down so you just want a chilled and stable relationship (stability).

You get this burning feeling in your loins however that she's not quite the one - something about her thats missing something (in game management, poor away record).

Then you look over to the counter and see none other than Katie Price (Mourinho) - sat there sipping a Pornstar Martini, low cut skirt, baps out the lot. You know her best days are behind her (Chelsea) and that she is a wild one at heart which may all end in tears (Utd) - but you also know that she can take you to places you've been dreaming about since you was a spotty teenage virgin (24 years without a trophy).

Its just so hard Roy not to keep staring.

Katie Price lol lol lol not exactly a ringing endorsement for your man there.

I thought Bernard for Iwobi should have happened sooner. And agree about that freekick.
Silva got that sub right.
Reckon he was waiting for Traore to tire and Iwobi and Digne better options until then.
In contrast to ealier on when Bernard could have been swatted to the stands.
Also Bennet had the yellow and Iwobi could of got something trying to barge into the box.
By the time that had run its course, probably longer than Silva would have wanted,
it was prime for the little Brazillian to do his thing. 76min wasn't too late.

If there are no injuries and Gambin is back, Silva will have real options to work into his game plan
instead of the appalling reactionary stuff we've been seeing.

Relic from a different world.
You can criticise mourinho for all the world, but one thing he could do is set up a team to defend. He was often criticised for it during his Chelsea stunts, whereby he’d settle for a 2-0 as opposed to going for the juggler and hammering teams. Said to my pals during the World Cup semi final last year, if Jose has been in charge that second half we would have won.

Mindblowing stuff,

Even if he didnt win us trophies or get us top 4 he would instil a culture of expecting success.
He could not possibly be as bad as our recent managers.,

`Terrible thing for this club', `hed be a bad fit'. `utter crapshow'.

This sort of apathetic nonsense is one of the reasons why we have stood still for over 2 decades.

At last we have had the hundreds of millions to try and compete with the top 4/6 but we have been abject
in trying to achieve it. Wasting milllions on bang average players and managers.

But still huge swathes of our fanbase would turn their nose up at a man who has the pedigree to change all that.

You will get what you deserve. Medioce and mundane - just like the last 24 years,

It’s a results business and if he got them no matter how we played I don’t care. I would like these so called world class mangers to come to club like us and do something special. Not have a squad handed to them already and millions to splash for subs.

To be honest, I think football has moved on from Jose. He was great when younger, a real breath of fresh air. But he seems to cause massive trouble wherever he goes now. We just can’t afford the turmoil.
I think that particular boat has floated.

If you think Jose would be a success here after Koeman played Bomberman with the club then I don't know what to say, The man goes to good clubs and makes them even better, He doesn't go to bang average clubs and turn them into superstars not unless you want to bring up Porto which was about 50 years ago.

He is also a short term option Who falls out with everyone very quickly, spending lots of money while doing it. The football is uninspiring as well.

He would install a culture of buying 29/30 year old players for extortionate wages only to either demand it all again 2 years later or walk out and leave you with a massive mess.

Jose goes to clubs like PSG, Madrid who have top end players and can afford that for short term game

We cannot so pipe down and stop chatting utter wham balls

Becoming an 'Everton' manager as the days roll on.

International break is good time for him to re-evaluate a few things - creating chances, re-working a few set-piece tricks, and even becoming defensively sound against teams who have a go like Villa.

Quietly confident in our man.

It’s an ok start, nothing more. Early days of course, but we’ve played 3 teams who are currently sit in the bottom 4, and one of those beat us. Our home record has improved hugely, but away, we now need to start winning at the grounds of the also-rans, and go toe-to-toe with some of the sky 6.
