I agree completely. Silva could be a fantastic success, or bomb, or be somewhere in the middle.
What we do know is that a lot of great managerial careers would have ended early, and dead in their tracks, if other clubs were to take a literal good/bad view of everything, particularly based on early experiences.
I'm nervous about Silva, but I'd be nervous about most other prospective managers who are going to come from the same bracket.
We'll see what he is made of here - he can't afford a short term spell as much as we can't either. All other things being equal, the manager that can drag us from the doldrums into a position to compete will be truly worth his salt in every respect.
