I dont expect us to win, Wolves have a settled team and players like Neves and Moutinho in the centre who are far better than ours. Im hoping for a win but expect a draw.

Youre right though, win and 7th and yet some 'fans' will still complain...its pathetic and clueless...like a small child wanting to know "are we there yet" every five seconds.
A quote from the Bulgarian fangroup I still can't understand - "even if we win every single game until the rest of the season - I'd still want him out".
If we do that we'd probably be comfortable 4th, or at least with 75 points. lol

Over the top examples like this aren't few and far between, sadly.

Well we've scored more goals and conceded less goals than this time last season.

We cocked up in the cup. It was dreadful. Not helped by an abysmal decision, but that's no excuse.

But in terms of tangible progress, there's two factors.

Up until that derby game we were in sixth and playing well. This revisionism that we weren't has to stop. We were very much looking like a side with swagger and a style. It's fallen off a cliff and ultimately the season is now about trying to recreate some of that.

But no, we haven't regressed.

Like I say I don’t judge him base on the time he is not with us. No point doing so really. It’s not a big accomplishment to be better than Sam with better sets of players.

He basically set his own benchmark during the first few months. It may be a blip but this blip is running for too Long.

The early season intensity is gone, the level now is completely different. Pressing, speed, intensity is very much different now. It may be fatigue or it may be the manager decision to evolve his game plan into something different I’m not sure. When the team is down in confidence, the manager should implement something less sophisticated with less technical ability to execute and build back the confidence. I guess the gradual change from counter attacking to possession slower build up drains the confidence in the team because we don’t have the players for it.

What do we actually have the players for?

He wouldnt fit the 433 system as he lacks mobility. Would have been ideal under Koeman.

Get 7th place after 38 games people won’t complain. In fact, he will get people behind him if this happens.

What do we actually have the players for?

We have fast players upfront, players that is capable of playing passes to forward running players. We don’t enjoy playing in tight spaces trying to break down a double flat line of four. So I think we are more suitable for counter attack with speed and having players running into space to maximise siggy capability.

We do have pace up front for counter attacking footy mate, we just don't have the players in the middle for it, when the ball goes to Sigurdsson in the middle the counter attack breaks down because he is so slow, this allows the opposition players to get back into position.

Seemed a bit more chipper today. Win tomorrow and we can start being more positive but it is a big ask.

He believes in the players, now the players need to believe in themselves.

But still a better tactics than slow build up. We may not have the perfect players to counter, but we have a set of players far better to suit this style than possession buildup.

We simply don't seem to train on how to get up the pitch in one flow. Pep, for example, as he is a top manager, is well known to work on this relentlessly. We look up and that gormless expression hits the face of the player with the ball and the arms go out and he starts gesturing. Happens every time.

I like a lot of fans am frustrated at the way the season is panning out, but let’s give Silva time to get his players in, he wants to play a certain way and anyone who watched the Liverpool v Leicester match the other night, made me think that Leicester ran Liverpool into the ground they chased and harried everything down, even when they brought a sub on in the 87 th minute (striker, took Vardy off) he worked his socks off and I mean chased everything.

Then when you watch DCL come on against Huddersfield around the same time 85 minutes he just strolled around the pitch, not fighting for the points, in other words not a winner.

My point is we have too many DCL in our team, when Silva gets his players in who want to work hard (Iddrissa Gueye being one) then he can be judged, as this is not the team he wants.

It's a good thing, because Silva has always been a counter attacking manager.

His build up isn't about speed or pace, but he DOES like to build from the back in the wide spaces of the pitch.
