Yes and that's good.

But after Monday then we have City away, Spurs at home, followed by two more away games. I can't see us picking up anymore than a point or two at most.

Our position is false given how few goals we've scored and who we've dropped points against. Come new year we are likely to be slap bang mid table.

i'm fine with that tbh, first season etc...will take a while to click, defense is getting better(look at goals against)

Aye. My only grip was the Zouma change. Not because Zouma is a bad player, but just because I didn't think it was really needed. It seemed to unsettle us.

As long as he learns certain lessons, which I'm sure he will, it doesn't really matter. The line up was what a lot of us thought it might be, or similar at least.

Yeah same, I thought Zouma in v Liverpool for their pace made more sense than bringing him in against 11 men behind the ball.

Absolutely.

It just seemed to knock us a bit and that was the last thing that was needed after Sunday.

Would have no issues switching to a back 3 when we visit City, for example, and Zouma coming in then. Just didn't think that alteration was required yesterday. Keane has been brilliant and it showed.

It's a false position because of who we've played and who we are about to play. By the new year I'd be amazed we are close to 6th. We need three points on Monday or we will probably be waiting until the new year for our next win, and way out of contention.

It's not Silva's fault though that he has inherited such dreadful strikers. It's a stain on the club that we paid so much money for someone so bad as Tosun.

Our last four away games have been against 4 of the big six?

It's not a false position at all. We've scored the 7th most goals, and have more often than not beat the dross.

Our position is judged against the sides we want to be better than. For now, those sides are ultimately every other team outside of the top six. By and large we've done that this season...

He must have had a knock, it didn't make sense to me. Or he wanted to see how mina and Zouma did as that'd be his preferred two.

Work in progress so bound to have days like yesterday. Still we played some good stuff at times, created a bit and we will only get better. Again unlucky tosuns shot could have gone anywhere and keeper was lucky to get on the end of it. The most concerning for me is how wasteful we are, we need way more chances to score than we should do. That's endemic of the team as well and extends from finishing to set pieces, lost count of how many times crosses hit the front man. Sure it'll come but think we need to lower expectations a bit and remember this is a work in progress and there will be frustrating days along the way

It's games like last night that 'shape' a manager for me. It's how they learn more about their team and address the underlying issues going forward.

I can't see much happening in January, but in the summer one would hope that both he and Brands know exactly what we need to do in the market.

We've played 4 of the top 6 sides, all away from home mate, we haven't lost a away to anyone outside of that group, we've lost one home game this season, and pretty much everyone is parking a bus at goodison this season, dunno why you're scared about away trips to a utter rubbish Burnley side and Brighton for.

I haven't confidence for any away game because we are one of the least clinical sides in the league and have struggled for years to turn the draws into wins. I saw shouts of 5 nil last night which was mental when we knew Rafael would come to sit in. People are getting way ahead of themselves. We don't score anywhere near enough goals to sustain a top 6 push.

There has been an improvement from last season, but there was hard not to be.

2/9 points from: Huddersfield, Newcastle and West Ham at home is unacceptable. One away win all season is just pathetic, really.

i see our defense has improved, credit for that at all?
