Lads, please. This is a transition season, we have just had a good run of results and climbed the table to 6th. The reality is we are a work in progress. Silva and Brands have only been here for a few months and, already, the quality of the football has improved immeasurably.
Take a chill pill and don’t expect miracles just yet, there will be more nights like last night in the short term, but, in the medium term I think the future looks good.

Silva's getting predictable, benitez knew what was coming and just sat back

Jesus wept.

Makes 3 changes. Only one really expected. Would you rather he'd kept the same team again? Which would have been very predictable? What did you want him to do? Play the Under 23's instead?

The only issue (well not only, but from this game) Silva needs to overcome currently is work out a system of play to get past these teams that come to sit for a draw. We should smash these teams but never seem to.

I also feel I should point out that we battered their goal in the first half and their keeper had a worldie. Silva then made the right changes in the 2nd half subs wise but the players who came on didn't get it done for him

At the end of the day, you can only blame Silva for so much

Did he pick a strong enough team to win? Yes

Did we create enough chances to win the game? Yes

Did he make attacking subs at 1-1 that should have seen us over the line? Yes

Not sure what else he could have done outside of sticking on a shirt and coming on himself to be honest

A disappointing performance and result.I think it just goes to show, that we need to get some more quality into the squad in January. It's back down to earth a bit.But this rebuilding project is still ahead of schedule.

Pretty much agree Corkers, although i'm still not sure we'll do much or anything in January.

I think we were doing so well a little bump like this might bring expectations back down to where they should be, what, 14 games into Silva's reign. People need to remember last season again. It will still take ages to sort that out.

Yes and that's good.

But after Monday then we have City away, Spurs at home, followed by two more away games. I can't see us picking up anymore than a point or two at most.

Our position is false given how few goals we've scored and who we've dropped points against. Come new year we are likely to be slap bang mid table.

Bizarre post that mate, how's the position false exactly?

As for the how few goals we are scoring g being indicative of that, going into last night's match we where set in 6th place in the league, and had scored the 7th most goals - really revealing that.......

Aye. My only grip was the Zouma change. Not because Zouma is a bad player, but just because I didn't think it was really needed. It seemed to unsettle us.

As long as he learns certain lessons, which I'm sure he will, it doesn't really matter. The line up was what a lot of us thought it might be, or similar at least.

It's a false position because of who we've played and who we are about to play. By the new year I'd be amazed we are close to 6th. We need three points on Monday or we will probably be waiting until the new year for our next win, and way out of contention.

It's not Silva's fault though that he has inherited such dreadful strikers. It's a stain on the club that we paid so much money for someone so bad as Tosun.
