This type of reasoning from a manger is just a cop out.
Koeman tried to transplant a system on top of what he had and it was a shambles.
And its appearing at the moment that the powers that be haven't learnt their lesson.
If you don't think you have the players to do a good job at CF, take the glass half full mindset and adapt.
Keep the core principles but find another way to get where you want to go with what's in front of you.
Given the path Silva is trying to get to the CF isn't really the issue atm.
There are more fundamental things to address irrespective of whether he's got a CF like Lukaku or not.
I'd rather see us have more than 6 points because he's getting other things right rather than DCL tapping that goal in.
You've got to ask yourself the question - would we have won the game if DCL had scored that goal?
As it was, we had that game lost at 0-0 when the teams headed for the tunnel at half time.
Emry was in control of the game from that point on.
Silva had the players to win that match.
Adapt the core principles? We're 6 games in, the players haven't even gotten used to the core principles yet let alone be able to play a way the manager isn't used to training players (and I'll say it again) 6 games in!
Ask yourself this before you ask anything. Would we of won at wolves if jags hadn't of been sent off? Would we of beaten Bournemouth if we'd of gotten two penalties we should of gotten? Would we of beaten Huddersfield and west ham if richarlison had of played? Or if that lad who super kicked Walcott in the head for west ham had been sent off or we got the penalty on sigurdsson in that match. Or if that arsenal lad had of been sent off for his second challenge one dinge?
There has been alit that has went against us this season but apart from the west ham match we have looked the better side in every other game. In my opinion if richarlison doesn't get sent off at Bournemouth or Bernard is fit we're looking at a extra 7 points on the board.
Emery was in control? By doing what? Switching aubameyang to a striker, what a brain wave its not like hes world class striker or anything. Was that why we bossed them from the start of the second half to the first goal? Arsenal hit us with two goals in 3 minutes and the lads heads went down and arsenals went up. Its unfortunate but we did have our youngest squad out since 1998. Arsenal had 110m worth of top class strikers in their prime and our entire front 3 cost less then half of that and 2 of them are 21.
People need to realise that this is a project and will take time. We need to sort out the squad to be suited to play silvas way. Atm we still have players from moyes, martinez, koeman and allerdyce. All different manager with completely different styles of play bringing in players for that style. A lot of them won't be suited to silvas style at first and some of them never will and will need replacing but this will take time to see who fits and who needs replacing.
Fortunately the next two position that need filling seem to be the obvious ones. The striker and midfield area but can that be sorted out in January or will it have to be a wait till the summer job?
For me I'm happy with Silva so far and he has my complete backing because I am seeing improvements in every game and we are playing the most atracking football i have seen for a long time at goodison. we still have players to come in. Its my hope that Silva will throw everything into the leauge cup this season. Its a cup none of the top sides are that bothered about and I think we can win especially with two of the top 6 sides already out and the rest being I more interested in Europe.
