A team can defend poorly yet keep a clean sheet mate, just as a team can defend well yet still concede. If our finishing wasn't so lackluster and continually letting their defenders off the hook then we'd be coming back with points in the bag.

This is like saying Sunderland should have won the league if not xyz happened.

Why do we always look at the results to judge managers rather than the performances? Out of those 6 games we've only played poorly in 2 of them, the others we were extremely unlucky thanks to a combination of individual errors, red cards, and shocking officiating. Other than Huddersfield/West Ham we've played well in all of our games so far.

Think after being 2-0 up against Bournemouth you have to add that game in there as well.

Omg didn't realise that happened!

Two red shites praising us! all is well!

I would rather see an Everton team having a go at teams than what happened last season where we were beat before a ball was kicked.

This is going to take a couple of windows before Silva has the team he wants, if you can’t see improvement today you are watching the wrong sport mate

Thing is, there was a spell when Everton was a feared team who everyone knew would give their all to the last whistle. It’s been years since we can say that. And that was before we spent hundreds of millions.

Look, results haven't been good enough so far and it's no good just batting morons on Twitter who are calling for Silva's head with "Rome wasn't built in a day" or "it takes time". Occasionally Rome never actually gets built and sometimes managers don't deliver.

But as someone else has said, there's been enough within the performances so far to provide little cinks of light. On another day we come away with all three points. We got done by a cracker and an offside goal. The overriding point is can we look at the bigger picture and see any reason for optimism?

And between the players we've got to come in and large periods of the performances against Wolves, Bournemouth and today, I think there is.

We need to stick with it.

There was mate, but at the same time the reason a lot of people are frustrated today, me included was because this game was there for the taking today, DCL scores after 2 minutes and were looking at a different game, I think we would have picked them off.

We will just after go again next week, someone is in for a good tonking from us

Isn't it it worrying to concede two or more goals nearly every game even if the defence plays well. The days of clean sheets is a very distant memory. How do you stop that? To have a chance of winning the team has to score 2,3 or 4 every match!

Yes, Silva really needs to go now before its too late and we get relegated at the end of the season and then Richarlison will go as well on the cheap and then we can pay out millions in compo to him and then we can tap up a manager from another club and pay them millions in compo as well and maybe get a points deductions as well and then we can start all over again and bin everyone off and spend squillions getting loads and loads of new players in etc etc.

Or maybe people can wise up and give the man a chance.

I was on board until your last sentence.

Massive game now. Even though there was a nightmare fixture list at the start of last season, after 6 games we are behind where we were then (7pts). People were not quite calling for Ronalds head at that time but it was just about to get nasty as things did not improve over the subsequent 4 games. I thought bthe attitude was good today but we are toothless up front, Arsenal have invested in strikers, it showed.

Fair play to you coming up with a comeback that irrelevant to what I said.

Not to concede and keep a clean sheet is better than conceding two goals. End of. The first goal was not an offside. And that was a penalty conceded from Kenny on the other day.

profound that

We desperately need a quality striker and have done since Rom left. It's quite extraordinary that we've spent so much cash and not acquired anyone who can stick it away or lay it off without any fuss. Silva must get someone in January or we're down among the dead men.

The same old same old at Arsenal.Although we limited them to just the two goals this time sigh.Look was Marco Silva the best choice for the job?No of course not.Our owner went for the cheap option. The flavour of the month option. The B and M/Home Bargains version of Roberto Martinez so to speak. But Silva is here now, and he deserves a fair chance at tuning this cub around.Hopefully we can finish in the top 8 and go on a cup run, and then clear the wasters out in the summer. As they say Rome wasn't built in a day.
