Beat Fulham and Southampton next week and we’re back on track. Our priority in my opinion should be the cups anyway. We aren’t gonna get near the top 6.

And I'm saying our defence was quite clearly not the problem today, our defence is not what let us down today mate, it was the fact that we didn't take our chances.

Okay you believe in good defence that's fine but how come their defence was far and beyond worse than ours today yet they didn't lose?... They won because they have two (very expensive) strikers there who can take chances (even though the second obviously shouldn't have stood)

Because of their keeper. I just don’t understand how can their defence was worse than ours when we conceded two goals as an unit. They kept a clean sheet.

Indeed.

And it helped that their goalkeeper gave an MVP dusplay.

1 win in 6 with a favourable run of games, thats the facts.

Why do we always look at the results to judge managers rather than the performances? Out of those 6 games we've only played poorly in 2 of them, the others we were extremely unlucky thanks to a combination of individual errors, red cards, and shocking officiating. Other than Huddersfield/West Ham we've played well in all of our games so far.

To add to all the misery, am I the only one who feels the team lack of fitness to compliment a high pressing game?
The players were clearly struggling at the later stages.

arsenal were poor, thats the worst i have seen them play since I can remember and we still lost 2-0.
think about that...
They were poor as a result of us pressing them high, putting them under pressure and forcing them back towards their own goal - only got ourselves to blame for not taking our chances.

6 points from 18 available. Against the run of fixtures we've had it's been a terrible start for Marco.

Assuming Silva has some good ideas, this start highlights just how big the task is facing him.

Strikers who don't worry opposition defences... a midfield lacking a genuine leader... and a defence trying to cope with zonal marking and for whom a big-money signing hasn't even made it to the bench.

Richarlison is gonna need help and soon from someone... or we risk him being fed up with ploughing a lone furrow and getting physically manhandled by bigger, stronger defenders.

Brands and Silva also said that Lookman would be a major part of this season... well, the only way he's going to make in impact is if he's played and not just for a paltry ten minutes.

Because points decide where you finish in the league.

But but but we aren't that bad honestly!

Please bear with me whilst I bury my head in the sand :pint2:

A team can defend poorly yet keep a clean sheet mate, just as a team can defend well yet still concede. If our finishing wasn't so lackluster and continually letting their defenders off the hook then we'd be coming back with points in the bag.

To be honest, I thought we came on strong the last ten or twelve minutes plus injury time.

Performances should come after results. You build a winning team, then add the flair. People are so afraid of being labeled “boring” nowadays they put the cart before the horse.
