Well if he wins this weekend he’ll have done something an Everton manager hasn’t done for a long long time and won away at one of the old big 4.

I wouldn't put it as strongly as that. Average start, maybe. One defeat, and two of the signings he made looking very good. A win or draw against Arsenal would make the situation look pretty rosy, tbh. It's probably been mentioned before, seeing as though it first aired two weeks ago, but I found Troy Deeney's comments on Silva during his Monday Night Football appearance to be very encouraging.
Deeney said that he was the best manager he's worked under, based on the innovative and enjoyable training sessions he ran. He also talked about how clear an idea Silva has of how he wants his team to play, and that he was ruthless in culling anyone who didn't buy into his methods. Quite high praise, considering they only worked together for a short time before the ignominious parting of ways.
There's no denying that it's been a very disappointing start, but I do think that once a few more players are fit there'll soon be enough points on the board to ease our fears.

Until we see evidence that he's capable of more than the usual haul of points accrued by beating the lesser sides at home, it'll be difficult for me to look at failure to beat West Ham or Huddersfield as anything other than disappointing.I wouldn't put it as strongly as that. The last home performance rocked confidence because there was no passion or shape or technical ability on show...and against a team like WHU. The rest of the games have seen progress in terms of establishing a new style.Until we see evidence that he's capable of more than the usual haul of points accrued by beating the lesser sides at home, it'll be difficult for me to look at failure to beat West Ham or Huddersfield as anything other than disappointing.
Unfortunately, I think the trip to Arsenal has come too soon, but I do expect him to spring a few surprises on the road. I can't really give him praise for that until it actually happens, though.
This is far too rational and sensible to actually be a post from you
I reckon we'll struggle more than we needed to without a new striker. That has to be addressed in January.Red cards, Richarlison massive miss, still no where near full strength, terrible refereeing and zero luck with injuries are all factors.
By January, we will be flying but we HAVE to give Marco time. Five matches with his strongest squad and then we should judge.
We have already seen massive improvements in attack, Cenk has missed some golden chances which has not helped. Defence is still a work in progress and we still have not seen our preferred partnership at the back.
Midfield def needs a Gomez and this for me is the most important player to come in.
