His length of tenure will be determined entirely on form and league position on an ongoing basis, you know that as well as everyone else.

It's complete nonsense to suggest he will have carte blanche for the next 18 months.

Allardyce had us 8th with a worse squad.
We've literally risked a massive fine (and even a points deduction worst case) to bring this guy in.

Meaning? If you think he wont be sacked if we are in last days of Koeman/Unsworth-like trouble, just because we happened to act stupidly in bringing him in, you are severely mistaken.

Allardyce had us 8th with a far worse squad.

You're early Kev, didn't expect an appearance from you until around 6pm on Sunday lol

I think a new striker was just a stretch too far and also Marco probably expected Cenk to be scoring more (any) than he has.

Still think Rico can play up top and Bernard on the wing.

I genuinely believe that

Rico
Bernard Siggy Walcott is top 6 stuff.

All internationals, all competitive, all work hard and have football brains.
I see Tosun and I dont see anything other than a small Euro league player. He;s well out of his depth here.

It would have to be relegation form to get him the sack earlier than next winter. There will be no stomach fr another managerial change. Just in terms of cost it's prohibitive.

Nice to see you onboard David.

Now is not the time for panic, patience is required here, long time plan with Marcel the God running tings.

7 signings so far, all massive hits.
I ALWAYS give a manager the benefit of time. Koeman was clearly a disaster by the start of his second season and I then agitated for him to go.

We are going to give him every opportunity to succeed.

He's had six games. It's been an underwhelming start but there has been positive signs.

It doesn't mean he can't be criticised if he gets things wrong. But shouts for sacking are ludicrous. He won't be sacked bar, as @davek says, relegation form. And even then, i'm not sure we'd blink so quick. Where has it got us over the last three years?
There will be no more sackings for the foreseeable.

I think the knee jerkers need to understand that and hold their water. They are in for a frustrated time if they think Silva is being judged on this season, let alone the first handful of games.

By all means criticise him. That's perfectly legitimate. But calls for his head are ludicrous and wont be entertained by the club.

Is the right answer

You couldn’t make it up, Toff.

So far it looks like much ado about nowt......with quite possibly a piper yet to be paid :(

The reason being put forward by many for our disappointing points return after the first five games is that it is due to continued unavailability, for one reaon or another, of the players he brought in and that he has had to rely on last season’s squad.

And it is certainly true he has had to make do with last year’s failures in the main.

But that begs the question where would we be right now if Watford had allowed us to have him this time last year.

I have yet to be convinced it wasn’t a bullet dodged and we woukd have endured a very anxious winter.

One imagines that if he cannot get a tune out of them now he wouldn’t have back then and whatever else about Sam, that immediate upturn in results lifted us well into the top half and we were never seriously threatened up there, despite the fall off in the latter stages.

Get what your saying mate but Klopp was a proven title winner in a good league where he built a fantastic side that got to a CL final. Silva on the other hand has won a title in a one horse farmer league.

Yes Silva is young and he needs time but I've seen nothing to suggest he's anything more than a manager who couldn't keep Hull up and looked good at Watford who always start seasons well (see this season). His defensive record in the league is shocking as is his sides disciplinary record and I think unless we strike lucky with a shock Lukaku esque centre forward signing to compliment Richarlison and Walcott that we'll struggle to finish 8th never mind 7th.

How would buying a good striker be a fluke?
