If you class Keane Holgate and Jagelika as PL standard CBs that your opinion and you’re entitled to it
I however disagree
I didn't say how good they were just that we have them, and we need to play 3 or them or we will carry on giving goals away for fun the way he has his full backs playing.

How many mistakes yesterday were unforced? It was ridiculous...we had enough chances to even win the game.. I like his and Brands signings... . Quite happy to wait and see his side after another 2 windows to get rid of the deadwood which stems back from even the Moyes era which in itself is mind blowing... and bring in his players...
Chill ya beans all you pamperettes

He must learn and realise his shortcomings in his tactics. Beating the like in Fulham and Palace at home is not too much to ask for. I hope we can turn this around I really do. The signings he and Brands had made are the right calibre.

You think his tactics are to blame for yesterday, does he ask Pickford to kick the ball to the other team?

I dont know who screwed up for the other goals cos I havent watched them back and whilst im not saying hes blameless, personally I feel the tactics arent to blame for the players making simple defensive errors, week after week, year after year.

I think he needs to adjust his tactics if we don’t have the players (backup) to do it in his way. For example, I do feel pushing the full back high up leaving huge gap in the wing area and our CM fail to cover will continue to cause us. And we are playing Arsenal in their ground next.

not writing him off, just saying the results are nothing new for him. He has shipped in goals wherever he has been

So in all his time in Portugal or Olympiakos his team shipped goals...? lol

I dont mind clueless posts but trying to pass off this as fact...

Its just bizarre.

As for Watford and Hull...of course they shipped goals...they dont exactly have decent sides.

Hes done that already.

He wants to play 433 but has been usimg 4231.

We dont have the players...yet

He changed the tactics yesterday, we went 4-4-2 but by then Pickford had got the rave on.

Im not saying hes not to blame, but the tactics are fine, as always, its the players failing to do basic stuff, school boy level defending and basic 5 yard passes.

That’s why I will give him the benefit of doubt, for now because a couple of new signings are not fit or injured. But there’ll be no excuse to drop point against the like in Fulham and Palace at home although it’s meant he is putting his own idea to the team.

Yea he did. Second goal was Pickford’s error. The third was Holgate being crap.

Gana / Schnederlin were at fault for the first goal , they should have covered Digne when he attacked , granted Zouma / Holgate getting caught out by a ball over the top didn’t help
Holgate got muscled out of it and turned for the third
Even after Pickford’s mistake Zouma and Digne should have shown Yarmelko the outside onto his weaker right foot

...a logic you and a few others never apllied to Martinez when the beauts were similary failing to play as professional footballers......

The only ‘tactics’ I don’t agree with are zonal marking. New players, new manager and everyone new to zonal marking is very risky.

If silva insists on it, it should have been gradually done. he should have gone man marking this season. And slowly introduce zonal marking at the end of the season and in the next pre season, when everything is bedded in better.

I’m personally not a fan of zonal marking, but done right with the right players it can work.
