It’s not his fault. It sounds like he’s told them who and what he wants and they’re taking ages to do it. Again.

And that’s both the players he wants in and the players he wants gone.

It is a bit baffling, Ij, I'll admit.

Brands is a guy who likes complete control. Yet he seems to be taking a back seat (btw, I'm aware it may sound hypocritical of me to say this as I've said before his remit isn't JUST transfers - it's far more than that).

For example, when we signed Richarlison - y'know, our second-highest signing ever and a really big move done relatively quickly (for Everton), why the hell wasn't there a presser with Brands and the player? They have it at Roma, with Monchi. They have it at Sevilla.

It exerts an air of control. I just don't understand why the club do everything so half-arsed. One step forward, two steps back. All the time.

Anyway, I am confident in Silva. Couldn't care less about a result in pre-season, but I do want to see the performances - we didn't get it yesterday (although against Porto in that first half-an-hour we showed the style we'll play, but we need to find that clinical edge).

I’m not 100% sure what Brands is doing. I’m sure he’s doing stuff and working hard but I do remember seeing pics of him with new PSV signings and stuff.

Just seems very backseat with us. You’d hope he wasn’t in the Richarlison pics because he was off sorting other things out.

I guess.
 
i really hope he's not as spineless as the last 3 managers

it's been said he's been using these friendlies as a opportunity to assess the players, well realistically only a handful of players have stood out, he should be on the blower to marcel this morning and tell him he needs a whole new defence and CM

absolutely no excuses
 

Going to a 4-3-3 is suicidal with the defence we have, even if he gets digne and mina they will still need time to adjust.

He is up against it and the season hasn't begun yet.

You can't just keep.on spending loads of money and not expect.to be in trouble later.

We've spent 280m in the last 5 transfer windows. Add a cb and lb. And it will be over 300m.

If we had a net spend like spurs we would have more then enough money to build the stadium.

There is no other way out of this mess though.

Some of the senior players are done / not good enough and are finished at this level.

Not many of the youth players are ready to step up, some of them obviously aren't going to make it either.

We simply have no other option, than to buy new players or we'll be no further on than last season.

Why do you think Silva is trying to get as many of the duds off the books ?????????
