Silva did well on his first competitive game for Everton. Must have been very frustrating for him having so much new quality signed up but too soon to play any of them and knowing that with his first game for Everton, he was basically playing with the same defence that was absolutely diabolical last season and continued leaking like a sieve in this pre-season. As if that wasn't bad enough, he then had to contend with being down to 10 men. His management and plan worked as we were arguably the best team for most of the match and deserved the win, never mind the draw. A point is acceptable though taking all of the aforementioned into account and the first very tough game is over and done with and we weren't beaten away and we didn't fold when we went behind and we scored, and boy can we score. Not worth 35 million my ass. Made an absolute turd out of Merson today did Richarlison.
Next game is at home and Silva will have time now to get the new players assessed and may even be able to introduce one or two of them next week which would strengthen up the defence and give us even more creativity.
Positive start blues and things look a lot rosier than they were last season. Everton are enjoyable to watch again. Yeeyy.
