If we lose today, as expected, we'd have gained more points from our opening six games last season, than this. Given that the six games last season had: Tottenham, Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City in them, this is a shockingly bad start.

No, it isnt.

Last season was a disaster and we lost seven of our opening ten in the league, four of our six Europa games, we struggled to beat the worst Sland side there has ever been at home in the league cup and at no point did we look like we had a clue about anything. This season has not been a great start but we have never, and I include last Sunday in this, have looked as dreadful as we did last autumn.

You're trying to argue against facts, it's bizarre. This will be a worst start to the league season if we lose today.

We earn Sunderland 3-0, hardly struggled.

We've just picked up 1 point against Huddersfield and West Ham in back-to-back home games. We only had one shot on target against Huddersfield. It doesn't come much more dreadful than that.

... by November 4th 2017 we had eight points. If we win today, or win any of the six games we have before November 4th 2018, we we will have nine.

Honestly I think quoting facts in defence of your argument may not be the wisest course of action here.

edit: also if you think we "hardly struggled" in that game vs Sland, you cannot have watched it

Maybe - just maybe some of our players arent as good as some people think?

People say we got ran rings by a midfield with obiang and declan rice!

Well maybe they are just better than our midfield 2!
Would you ever catch gana playing that through ball obiang played for arnautovic
Would you catch schneiderlin playing with the aggression and confidence rice did?

Our better players right now are pretty much all the players silva has brought in!

You trying to tell me that Pickford isn’t world class? And that DCL isn’t the next Kane?

I'm judging at comparable timeframes, you aren't. We can revisit at November 4th for your timeframe.

I was at the Sunderland game, it was a routine victory.

So you want him sacked?

I think any manager deserves at least 6 months before you can properly judge however from what I've seen so far I don't get the people who are willing to give him 18-24 months before asking questions when our defending has been shocking and we are basically no better than last season in alot of respects.

Im willing to give him until Christmas but if we are in the bottom half with the same poor results I wouldnt be bothered if Moshiri booted him out the club.

I've said it from day one that unless you have city or chelsea cash the only way to progress is with a top quality manager (see Klopp, Pochettino) Silva for me isn't in that bracket at present. Wolves manager for example looks alot more impressive and flexible with lesser players bar Neves and Moutinho and has taken points off both Manchester clubs already.

If this appointmemt goes south we need to stop highing flavour of the month average managers and offer crazy wages for a top coach - Jardim, Ancelotti, Blanc, Conte someone who will come in and revolutionise the club.

Look at Leeds with Biesla in the Championship a manager cut above the rest in a division is worth their weight in gold - make them one of the highest paid managers in the world just get one in.
