Wrong. We have Calvert-Lewin. If you listen to what Brands and Silva have been saying throughout this season it is clear they see him as our main striker. His development has been one of the aims of the season, and he has not disappointed.
Personally I fully expect him to continue leading the line next season.

I'm DCL's ultimate biggest fan and I still think Everton know they need a striker.

I’m being serious. I don’t understand the logic in your post at all. Why would we be better equipped for Europe in 12 months? If you were saying we could make a push to win the league while unencumbered by the extra games everyone else has to play then it would (theoretically) make sense, but if the sim is just to try to finish 6th why bother? Literally the only reward for that is to get into the europa, so why don’t we just do that now?

Why would we want to risk targets being tempted elsewhere by European football this summer? Would we turn our noses up at winning a cup now because it would get us into Europe? If not, why, because by your logic it would actually be detrimental to us? It’s a strange position to take in my opinion.

If we get in Europe this season we are limping in with a squad far from ready for it.
We start from the early rounds and we already know from experience how damaging that can be.
Brands needs a relaxing summer, they all do, and it's a big worry we might be reluctant to shift more dead wood wages knowing we need numbers for the extra games.

Give Silva another season to build a strong side, and get them all playing well together and get into Europe with a side that is looking stronger.
For me I'm sure Silva will get next season now, let's make it easier for him.

Hang on, we couldn’t apply that rule when people were kicking and screaming about sacking him in January.

I wasn't one of those kicking and screaming for him to be sacked, I said ages ago he got the rest of the season and the first 10 games of next season for me (which I considered fair IMO) so I'm sorry for not thinking we've turned a corner at this moment in time.
