At the time no, and besides I still think he has displayed a self serving attitude in everything he’s had to do with football

And you reckon this isn't in the make up of most managers? Most managers have to be self serving...they are mostly in jobs that will not last more than a couple of years if they're lucky. This romantic notion that managers love the club they manage is not true, I'm afraid,in most cases. Its a tough, well paid business and theres only one way to survive. The main job of a manager is to keep on the right side of the board,in case you have a run of bad results, and to try to keep the crowd on your side. Hence Mourino(sp),a good manager, replaced by Solskaer(sp) a PR mans dream

Thought this was interesting.

Goals against from open play is 17 better than last year (and we are actual 7 better off overall).

Thoughts anyone?

statistics can read whatever you want them to depending on what slant you are biased to...

I have been watching & our defending from set pieces has been shambolic, the fact that we are stronger this year needs to be factored in against open play....

We are short up front & rely to heavily on Siggy & Richarlison to score our goals....

We will finish around 9th or 10th this season & no decent cup run, a disappointing season after all the early expectancy....

We are poor defensively, Silva needs to break these stats that follow him about. I doubt he will though........

Off topic, how much better did we look without Sigurdson and Richarlison last night! But what do the fans know?

Yes it is interesting. It begs the question if we shored up our defence of set pieces would we now be so much better placed.

In my job which is in the provision of public services it is not the huge amount of efficient delivery that gets any attention, rather the tiny number of dissatisfied.

In relation to Silva, the set pieces are not merely a dissatisfaction but are a serious detrimental impact on performance.

He has to address this.

Have you ever met Sam Allardyce? Thought not. Some on here are keen to criticise him for what he 'achieved' at Everton, and are also keen to forget that HE DID THE JOB HE WAS EMPLOYED TO DO. He may be a 'dinosaur'. and he may be defensively minded. Its a well known saying in football that you build a team from the back. We sacrificed attacking entertainment under Allardyce for relative defensive solidarity...it didn't work completely successfully in defence, but it was enough to get us 8th. And he did that largely with defenders who were at the club when he arrived. His two major signings were both attackers. It might not be a popular opinion amongst the internet lemmings on here, but there is a chance that if SAm had been given another season our football might have become more expansive. Sam Allardyce was trapped in a reputation for putting out fires and saving relegation haunted clubs, but he possibly sensed an opportunity at Everton to recreate his success at Bolton. I think it was pressure from fans that motivated Mosh to sack Sam, and the same pressure and his own mistaken idea to employ Silva. Mosh has a new train set and quite soon, he'll learn to drive it without coming off the rails.

Shaddup with this nonsense

That corrupt arrogant mess should never have been allowed anywhere near the managers role

Of all the crap we have gone through since the 80s ended, appointing that thing is by far the lowest point
