I read fans saying we need a total clear out, well that's the problem. Previous managers have brought players in who were overpriced, on high wages and long contracts. What player would want to take a pay cut when they can just stick around. Flushing the deadwood is a term often used by fans but in reality it's very difficult to do.

Patience doesn't seem to be a thing any more. Just calls for the latest manager to be sacked so we can have another that will still be stuck with the deadwood and hampered by yet another manager's contract we have to pay off along with his staff.

The only option is to stick it out and hope it gets better. No decent manager would touch us with the deadwood and owners basically saying he won't spend big again. His comments about converting us from a museum seem a tad premature. The only thing that has grown in his time is our debt to him.

We have an obsession with overpaying managers, do we really need yet another huge compensation payout? Could have signed Fekir with all the money we’ve had to pay out Bobby, Koeman, Fat Sam & possibly Silva.

Biggest issue is that managers do need time & he was given a poor, aging, bloated squad to begin with. Realistically, who comes in to replace him that would actually be attracted to what we can offer both now & the future?

He needs to be given another transfer window to transform our squad with Brands, then he has until the end of the year to prove himself. But he really needs to show SOMETHING in the meantime.

The real question is - would you clear out any of the players Brands/Silva brought in? I wouldn't. It's not their fault the squad that they currently have. Coleman, Baines, Davies, Keane, Tosun, even Pickford, Walcott, these guys aren't good. Simple as that. It's going to take a couple more windows.

So you’d give this clown 100m to spend in the summer then.

Because that is what it comes down to.
