People said it on Twitter so it must be true lad.

It's pretty common to offer players to ascertain their value, and create demand in them.

Agents are doing it all the time on behalf of clubs.

That Sheedy fella ( I come in peace ) on the name and shame thread is in the process of becoming an registered agent, he will know further details.

I think if you look at Heitinga's wages, other centre halves available, contract, willingness to re-sign etc....you can see why the club would look into the possibility of moving him on its probably basic business. However I think the details of his contract added to his euro performances means there probably hasn't been much interest.

Are you an agent yet?

I'm a long way from that mate , hoping to sneak into via the back door if I'm honest and piggyback on someone else's registration and even that's in the future before I could formally call it a job. That said as i understand it's pretty common to as you say 'test the water' for players.

I'm quite a bit of a gambler to be honest, I have the view 'what if' a player is potentially better than what we have + younger and cheaper....

'What if' we sold Jags and Heitinga and signed 2 young lads like Dortmund did a few years back....'what if' they became top class....

It's the only way we can challenge at the top unless our youth are all super duper...

Well the position we are in can we afford to risk something like that? Our problem is firepower, not our defence. In fact our defence is probably the most stable area of our time and to risk that would be ludicrous.

Can't argue with you there, not sure its going to be a clever idea in a season though...Distin may be gone + Jags and Heitinga will be older with their resale values diminishing -- just puts us in a harder position when switching players in and out.

Hoping for signings of this nature....him and Naismith would be a good start then ideally a young fast winger.

What about Pienaar? Him LD and Naismith, are the summers priorities, plus an international striker for some reason.

Whilst Pienaar and Donovan would be great signings NOW I'd be really impressed if we did have enough money for them if....Moyes went for a top couple of younger players....

We are actively looking to sell Heitinga, he wants to move to Anzhi and he has asked his agent to sort it out for him, We've been trying to flog him to clubs all over europe and trying to ear-mark a price for him, if he is sold, you'd expect something aroud 8-10m for him with about 2-5 being spent on transfers, so i presume we would be attempting to sign either someone young and foreign like this guy, or the nigerian who plays for torino, or someone on a free like Sivok, it all depends on when / if Heitinga is sold, and who is available to us at the time.

Anzhi could pay big money, where did you hear them specifically -- if they want him he's gone.

The guy in torino could have been picked up 2 years ago....I'd rather Moyes spent on a future top centre back as otherwise jags and distin are no spring chickens and duffy seems to be off on loan
