You can’t really compare the two because it’s a completely different market. Every man and his dog knows Silva is on the brink, and people are chancing a few quid to make a few quid.

A random Argentinan Manager that hasn’t been linked anywhere, dropping from 33’s to odds on in 24 hours not just with one bookie, but across the board, is much more interesting.

That kind of shift is a little more than “Randy down the pub having one too many and chucking a fiver on”.

If that was the case, you’d see different names going up and down in the betting all over the shop on a daily basis but that’s not the case.

Still doesn’t mean there’s anything concrete in this though obviously, but it’s interesting all the same.

Just shows that the bookies have no clue and the market is driven by speculative bets. They only need to be standing a £20 bet at 100/1 like this for them to fold the odds so they don't have any increased liability.

If they knew who was getting a job, they wouldn't accept any money on that person. That's how they work.
