....still no word on a new contract, so here’s a theory without any inside knowledge or any basic reasoning:

‘Davide Ancelotti is lined up to be Everton manager at the end of his Dad’s tenure. A new young manager will require a DoF he knows, trusts and can lean on. A new DoF suggested by Ancelotti’s is incoming.’

Its a bit of a ridiculous theory now I read it back.

I believe that is a distinct possibility. As for the DoF could still be Brands, not sure where you get "new DoF suggested by Ancelooti's is incoming" from?

....I didn’t get it from anywhere, Matey, just my devious mind. If (and it’s a bit if) DA is being lined up, the Ancelotti’s might (and it’s a big might) want their own DoF in. I imagine CA has worked with a few.

it just seems odd Brands hasn’t been given a new deal and I’m thinking of reasons why (but probably wide of the mark here).

Bear in mind Carlo still has 3 years to run on his contract so probably coincides with Brands. Mind I do hope things going well Carlo will accept an extension.

Seen someone post a team sheet from just before he joined to a recent one and the difference is absolutely huge. Yes he's made the odd mistake but nobody has a flawless record.

The quality has increased significantly and 95% of the dross has gone. Id say give him a few more years.
