Best signings in my life time as fan (caveat, 80s started when I was 4, from which time Bracewell, Sheedy, Ratcliffe and Big Nev were my favourites)

Lescott, Pienaar, Cahill, Arteta, Fellaini, Yak, Yobo, Coleman, Jags, Baines, Gravesen and I didn't mind Naysmith (either of them) and a few of our other triers.

Character, ability, who got organised and tried.

This squad lacks character and organisation. I do see some ability - and more than enough for Moyes to steer us to safety and earn a shot at next season.
