Napoli were no great side when Maradona arrived. They had some poor seasons after finishing 4th in 81. By the time maradona arrived in 84 they were mid table fodder.
I mean come on. They had never lifted a title in their entire history before he arrived.
They won the title because of him. Just plain stubborn to suggest otherwise.

They had the second best defensive record in the league that season. Wish all it took to make supposedly crap defenders into world beaters was a sexy South American playmaker up the other end of the pitch.

Oh. Yeah i was talking about before he turned up. They were drifting. I watched a film about him and napoli a few years ago. The then chairman basicaly bankrupt the club on gambling the signing of Maradona.
