Manny vs Derby

Thought he did ok. Not a brilliant game but he looked up for it and had a decent game. Great ball to Osman for the goal

i thought he was poor yesterday until he put Osman through. Then he looked as though he was getting a bit of confidence back and then Moyes takes him off. I couldnt believe some of the subs that he made yesterday. We all know that jags cant play in the middle, yet, he throws him on there instead of gravesen.

I must admit I never understood putting Jags on. What position was he meant to be playing exactly? What role does Moyes want to carve out for Jags?

Ok so he is cover for JO L+JO Y (better than Yobo imo), but Moyes seems hell bent on trying him in midfield and in the hole behind the striker. What IS he trying to do with Jags I can't figure it out. He sucks in midfield and plays like a CB up front in the hole.
He also threw Nuno on the left wing yesterday too, which he has been doing with Baines lately.
Is he just 'trying' it to see if it works or does he have genuine aspirations that these players will be performing there in the future?

I'm always happy to see Manny's name of the team sheet and am aching for him to put in a top performance to confirm his worth. It is frustrating to know what a good player is in there but see it struggling to get out. Yestarday, however, that one pass helped us to take the three points. Players such and Manny and Mikel will always lose posession occasionally in search of something special, but when it comes off it can make the difference between a draw and a win. And that happened yesterday. Sign him.

It was IMO an improved performance but I remain bemused as to how long it takes him to get up to pace in a game. His first touch left a lot to be desired but in his defence the service he received was poor, fingers pointing at the skipper. The killer pass was a belter. I would like to see him tackle more and tackle cleanly but yes there is some hope but still not at £10 million quid.

I wondered about this lad if we did sign him would the fact that someone wanted him bring the best out, just a thought because he has been with us three months.

There's no doubt that he was a bit off the pace for the first 10-15 minutes. He's got to be quicker on the ball and his decision making just a bit faster.

I'd love to write an article about Manny so far this season as i have alot to write but will do in abit.

But he started the game poorly, caught on the ball twice, i'm not sure if he is not up to the pace of the Prem game like last season, remember we got him from Pompey, so he was used to it, as he came from Spain where you can turn like a horse and not get clattered whereas here you can't turn without someone twatting you like some yard dog's do now.

But as the game went on he got into it more, he has brilliant vision and some nice crisp passing, he seem's to pace it with pace which is better because it won't get intercepted but the player's need to have a good touch, but that's how it's played in Spain i suppose.

He didn't have a GREAT first half but he had a decent first half and i thought he might get subbed at half time though.

He came out 2nd half on the wing and looked much better, he was getting stuck in too, remember 3 players on him and he was still battling and got in that shot which was a fantastic shot, he puts some bloody power behind it.

Brilliant ball by him for the goal, Ossie made a [Poor language removed] fantastic run but Manny needed the vision and that precise ball to play him in, so it was a fantastic ball.

Much better by Manny yesterday and i hope we make him a permanent fixture at the club as he need's a full season at a team playing week in, week out.

He hasnt' had a run yet so who knows after a couple more games he could be the Manny of last season.

Cal <3 Manny.

ahh I like this post :D
Someone who see's Manny the same way as I

Well it seems from Manny's comments that he wants to stay, I wonder if his agent, I mean owner, will let him.

I think Moyes was hoping Jags could take over for Carsley, he played in the midfield in the Championship well but hasn't had the chance to get exp in the prem at the position caused Warnock (rightly) needed him at CB. Maybe now that he's setteled in he can get some PT in the preseason next year.

This is exactly what I want to say about Fernandes, cannot believe someone feel the same way as I did, I hope he get to start against Birmingham next weekend.

Watched his interview on Everton TV earlier. He's admitted that he feels he can improve as we haven't seen his best. Said it's down to fitness.

it was a decent shot and a superb pass. Other then that, decidely average performance...Neville or Baines would've been my man of the match to be honest.

I just hope he feels like it against better sides then Derby.

(if his shot went in he would've been MoTM for me.)

Manny's Derby performance (Derby Co., not 'the derby') should be what we are expecting of him.

I wanted us to sign him. Then I hated him for leaving us in the lurch, then I was overjoyed we got him back, then onto the low of those dismal performances. But as the optimist I still expect to see magic from him when he plays and his 2nd half performance was really good. Got seriously stuck in and that superb pass, inch perfect into Osman's run was a joy to watch.

Buy him, I say. Buy him.

I think he has great upside potential. Once he settles completely and all this agent and contract stuff thats weighing on him leaves then we should see him in his true light. I wonder how Davie has prioritised him on asking him back. I know he won't be held ransom for him. So we shall see how this all plays out in the summer. So far he isn't the wonderkid we thought but he still to me looks like a good player to me. That pass to Ossie was awesome. Only Arteta comes to mind picking out a player like that.

The decent shot though, it was the way he went about it......mixing it up on their 18, goes in against 3 Derby players, who have the ball, steals it from them and unleashes a rasper. Then Yak collects the rebound and should have buried it low instead of (I am being nice and not saying it was a wayward shot) playing it across the middle.

True, he did play quiet well. I'm pleased that he's finally putting a shift in maybe there was a touch of spite in my original post but I don't think he would start left wing over Pienaar who is probably our biggest creator of goals.

It's great that Manny finally got his ass into gear and is finally looking like the £12 Million man that he's supposed to be, but I'm not going to chuck all of my eggs in one basket based on one performance against the minnows of the division.

I still think that we shouldn't buy him. However, if he can perform against other clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal to that standard then we should probably look to buy him for 8-12 million but for right now it was only Derby County and he needs to do a hell of alot more before he can justify his pricetag.
