Manchester United

People realise what they're doing, people also realise they've spent insane amounts on crap players in the past and have a CM who isn't a CM as a starter because Amorim is stubborn in his way and can't find a second way to play. That same way worked in Portugal because it's Portugal, but Grimsby probably have a bit to say about how great it worked, or several other of the failures.

Of course if you spend hilariously huge sums on the best players from opposing teams you'll get called up on it though, what do you expect, that everyone ignores it because Amorim is some savant? He'll be sacked in a year or so anyway when they fail to reach the CL again and the next flavour of the month will be brought in, most likely. They got Cunha and Mbuemo for more than we've spent in the last 4-5 years combined, alone - if those 2 can't get them a point or two between them then Amorim should rightly be sacked.
Amorim has made steady improvement on a team that needs steady improvement. United’s biggest problem is thinking they’re always a year away from fixing it. Honestly sacking him is the worst thing they can do right now. This is the first time since Ferguson left that the manager seems to understand that what they need to is get better first. The winning comes later.

It is not dissimilar to where Everton have been for going on a decade now (or 4 decades if we want to be harsh).

I don’t get these managers. They know what they signed up for on their massive contracts. Then they throw the toys out of the pram but probably still expect a big payoff if sacked 🤷‍♂️
Tbh I’m not sure it is always clear exactly what they have singed up for.

Perhaps with Chelsea, although if the reports are true they were dictating which players played and for how many minutes that would seem a crazy way to expect to manage.

But less so with Man Utd.
