I didn't actually watch him a lot for Everton. How good was he though? Like some Evertonians were claiming he was world class when he played for you?

He was. Paired with Jagielka.

He'll turn out ok in time. He probably played his best football for us at left back but then looked very comfortable at centre half too, apart from one season where he was [Poor language removed] for a few months, as was most of the team like.

It's his superior distribution and versatility that got him into the England team ahead of Jagielka though, not just saying it but I'd much rather have Jagielka in my team every time.
